Yeah. 2017 was one of the worst years of my life but the music was classic
Still praying for a DāAngelo x Kendrick collab so bad, on some Black Messiah/ TPAB on steroids type shii
BLK ODYSSY out now

They been putting their hands in pockets over here since the 1400s
Video was lower key than I expected. Iām honestly more hyped about that snippet in the beginning
Mirror such a beautiful closer to Morale
Ngl I'm looking at 2017 releases and I kinda forgot how much I enjoyed some of these releases

And the tap dancing is no longer discordant by the time we get to Savior
Is Kendrick Lamar the great rapper of all time?
Yes
Is Kendrick Lamar the great rapper of all time?
He definitely earned himself a top 10 spot with the beef
And thatās not even mentioning his discography
2015-2018 were all great years for music
Could be a nickname to his savior complex, or a reference to his morale being low due to trauma and how he tried to cover it up
Morale got nothing to do with morality. Just a disclaimer, since I've seen some folks take it that way (pause, and not saying you did), but to touch on your point about the savior complex, I do agree, and I also think that it ties back to his running theme about "Uplifting the black community."
Last LP I tried to lift the black artists
But it's a difference 'tween black artists and wack artists
That was him on DAMN.
By the time we get to Mr Morale, it's no longer him trying to uplift, but Kendrick himself begging to be uplifted/saved from his problematic thoughts and actions. That's why the album is centered around therapy.
2015-2018 were all great years for music
Makes 2019 on feel like the dark ages
I think the album is more cohesive and connected than you give it credit for
Disc 1 is called Big Steppers. Throughout disc 1 Kendrick is addressing his flaws and toxic tendencies, but he isnāt really doing anything to fix his tendencies. He says āreal niggas donāt need no therapy.ā
Heās tap dancing and āsteppingā around his problems instead of working on them.
And near the end of disc 1, Whitney says āStop tap dancing around the conversationā
Then on the first track of disc 2, we hear āsession 10, breakthroughāā¦and Kendrick finally goes to therapy.
Then throughout disc 2 Kendrick actually starts addressing his flaws and comes to the conclusion that he needs to just focus on working on himself instead of trying to be a savior. He also makes the connection that generational trauma had a bigger impact on him than he realized
The album is to show us that Kendrick is just as flawed and f***ed up as everyone else
whats this gotta do with the music though?
See this is why I hate these book report ass reviews.
Guys, this is entertainment. Your theme doesnāt matter if the music is just art project mishmash.
This feels like the end of a chapter.
I donāt know why but the video was the credits.
Rap will never be the same.
Thank you Mr. Lamar
Makes 2019 on feel like the dark ages
Thereās great albums beyond 2018, itās just the world feels darker in general.

Guys, this is entertainment, just listen to your slop without thinking about anything
Is Kendrick Lamar the great rapper of all time?
Heās definitely in the top 10 minimum at this point.
If his pgLang run is as good as itās been since Family Ties then he will be the undisputed Goat
His overall lyricism may not be as layered as someone like Lupe but thereās so much more to being a top tier Mc than metaphors and similes.

It's one of his most replayable albums while also having a theme
Listen to silent hill or die hard
Nothing overtly complicated about those at all
