The most potent line in Like That is the money power respect thing. I really think that is the one thing that eats at Drake is not getting the same type of critical respect that his contemporaries do. Hence why he can't seem to stop talking about f***ing people's wives.
nah fr
Some gems on it but I believe it’s looked at in a better light because it was drakes first real departure from the usual formula of his albums
I prefer that style of Drake's music than rap Drake
i see people criticize drake's lyrics/content, and wonder what their top played artists are talking bout

The only reason it’s not at the absolute bottom for me is bc he did something wildly different with HNVM
that being said even that much of a left field soundscape couldn’t save that album for me. Just a giant snoozefest imo
What Drake fans fail to understand is that while content doesn't equal artistic merit it still counts for something and that something is what Drake doesn't have. If he had it he'd be just as great as anyone that came before him imo.
this is true but work ethic also does factor in, and there’s simply no one that has outworked him in the profession since his debut. that alone makes him a great

What do my top fav artists have to do with anything
I clearly love some of these Drake albums but in terms of his own catalogue his performance on HNVM was subpar to me
No need to compare it to anything else

i have no idea if he's hinting at something or just expressing how he feels, but it's something at least

I personally be needing the explanations from Cole and would like to go back to a time where there was more context to the music from the artists
I just didn't need his apology or actual diss track
thats fair. i could’ve done without it cause of how he was moving leading up to the drop. vlog material with mini music videos but not explaining s***. just letting the work speak
