F*** you buddy
Some of you really think that an album having a message/being a concept album automatically means it's good and everyone has to like it. Nope. You still have to deliver musically. Kendrick landed the mark on GKMC/TPAB but he missed the mark on MMATBS and that's okay. I bet he lands the mark next time.
One day you’ll get a good post out. I believe in you even if nobody else does.

Ya last one bricked

Great
The charting position of "Like That" on Apple Music means Kendrick doesn't have to reply!
TPAB is critic bait too.
I cant speak to whether it is intentional or not. But that's definitely how I perceive the end product.
And if you look at how they responded to it (which is obviously a generalization), it seems like it was tee'd up perfectly for them.
He's kind of positioned himself as the "good, magical negro" which even he seems to have realized with his latest work.
You not baiting the critics with Thundercat and George Clinton
Do you believe in me?
Are you deceiving me?
Could I let you down easily?
Is your heart where it need to be?

Well oh s*** buddy that's your opinion too, it's OK, blocking every other opinion is the b**** made s***, like tune out if the love it gets really gets to ya
Yall arguing with a grown adult that made a “megathread” for posting updates about Drakes child

Never forget:
I can never be sure. None of us can.
But that's why we talk about our interpretations of art.
So any album that gets good reviews automatically is critic bait based on what then? Just makes the statement kinda baseless if anything.

What a dumb fckin c*** using that ‘hm’ to suggest the stories are true. Of course she was gonna turn her comments off if stans are harassing her. She ain’t done anything to anyone to deserve this. Why don’t they tell drake to open his
With how weird fans are being at this point I don’t want Kendrick to feed into it . It should never get to point of harassing family members. I hate that Drake keeps bringing up wives government names because he knows what his fans will do . Act like bots . It’s the same way the s*** Nicki does makes me less interested in her music , tours and being a fan . Nothing is accomplished by a person having to go private , no comments or not have peace over rap m
It’s genuinely not that serious and bringing up wives this much shows a jealously that they have a wife

@Cole2 you need to make an investigation into Top Dawg, he running the game behind the scenes scarily
Maybe that’s part of why it’s confusing then. It seems weird and self important to center a trans issue around himself
And it’s not like he completely makes that clear, he clearly still on his old conscious message rap tendencies here and is trying to make a profound point on the issues too
He's not centering a trans issue around himself. He made a decision for himself that aligns with trans issues.
Song literally ends with him saying he chooses his happiness and family over religion
don't see how you can be confused about that
Yall arguing with a grown adult that made a “megathread” for posting updates about Drakes child
Yeah it’s KTT dude do you want me to NOT argue?
The song is fine. The point of the song was clear. Yall are doing way too much
The song is “fine” yea but I don’t think it’s above criticism
It leaves so many questions open in the lyrics that it’s natural to debate it
you just said what sort of person calls a woman that transitions to a dude the f word, when he literally used that word to illustrate a portion of his childhood when he didn’t know any better + drew a parallel to his hypocrisy at his anger at a white lady rapping nigga on the stage with him, but didn’t understand the harm behind flag
you’re a low tier troll
White lady looked like she was 13
This.
Dense music isn’t inherently better or worse, it just appeals in different ways and to different people.
I personally love hearing a song/album that, for example, purposely has a ton of contradictions on it to embody the contradicting nature of the human experience and innate hypocrisy in us all.
That being said though, I will never blame anyone for preferring to just put on the latest dance record or something. Partially because I also like that, but also because it’s just as valid and “high” as art imo. Helping someone groove and feel less alone is just as valid a reason to create art as exploring the depths of human nature and how it functions in modernity.
Was not expecting such a dope response
Yeah definitely, you nailed it
What are ur top 5 and why folkie
That’s hard.
I gotta go with (in no order):
Mother, i Sober (perfectly done beat and sung hook, with some of the most personal writing I think I’ve ever heard from him)
Worldwide Steppers (really good at capturing how I feel sometimes, as far as vibes and instrumentals go, good lyrics too)
Rich Spirit (insanely infectious hook, great verses, also really good at capturing a certain dread I feel a lot lately)
Mr. Morale (I love this beat so f***ing much, and Kendrick does not let me down with his performance on it)
Savior Interlude (more straightforward but still really really good verse, probably too 3 favorite verses on the album for me)
What about you?
