Losing to Kendrick is respectable

Losing to future, has longer business ramifications

There's no way to win a battle with Future though. If he drops a Future diss song then what? Nobody will expect him to respond with a diss song. Same when he dissed Kanye, nobody expected Kanye to respond.

I really don't see a path for Drake to "win". Sure on paper he can win a back and forth with Kendrick but whatever is happening is bigger than that

The advantage Kendrick has right now is that he dissed him on a song that is overwhelmingly the most popular song right now. Even though the whole song isn’t about Drake, it’s very similar to how Drake dropped Back to Back on Meek. This record is going to be here for a bit.

The first problem that Drake faces is that once he drops a response record, people will immediately judge whether it’s harder than Like That (which is a really good record. Diss aside). And based off of what he did with FATD, I just dont know if he’s gonna come with that on such short notice.

The second problem is, I just absolutely feel like his pen isn’t better. And after he responds, I think Kendrick is gonna let his real diss go just like Pusha did. Like That is absolutely bait just like Infrared was. There’s no way Kendrick did this record and is anticipating that nothing at all is coming back.

It's not a bad guess. First the public got word of any of this was when Metro was tweet and deleting. It's possible Drake f***ed Metro's girl and Metro is way more respected among rappers.

He’s the biggest artist. He gives them their biggest tracks. Feel like they’ve just always had industry friendships. They aren’t good enough lyricists to go at him, so they literally waited until someone who was got at him.
