There’s some similarities with how Nas/Jay went down I would say. I was super young but in retrospect, Jay being from Brooklyn and having Rocafella was huge in having a foundation to continue to be taken seriously. Like the pedigree is undeniable, all disdain some have for him aside.

I think Drake will ultimately be relatively ok after this L once the dust settles, but a big difference is OVO and Toronto isn’t much of a foundation outside of him. It’s not the same movement rocafella was. Also Kendrick’s career is a lot stronger than where Nas’ was at the time of the respective battles.

in what world is Nas' career not at its peak as one of the greatest of all time after dropping these albums? Yall weren't even around lol

Sometimes folks might need that or a lending shoulder. Just found out a buddy of mine from HS killed himself. Haven't talked with him in probably 8 years (about a powershell upgrade) and 4-5 before I deleted my facebook. Still feel bad that I coiuld have done something or been that shoulder to lean on. Damn.

Hip hop was also a lot smaller back then. As long as legal issues don’t arise from this then Drakes core fans should be enough to keep his career afloat. It also doesn’t hurt that people have short term memory these days. New s*** goes viral every week which makes it difficult for ppl to give a f*** about an issue for longer than that

I hate how you guys think this s*** is going to blow away this fast

This is 2 of the biggest hip-hop rappers going at it with the whole world watching.

Plus with schizophrenic Drake stans been acting since the L.

This will stay in people's minds for the rest of their lives. This ain't one and done thing compared to Nas and Jay.

With the internet, this s*** will be reminded daily for Drake and his stans that this is a L

Nah man, and I love Nas, but he was not at his peak at all coming off of Nastradamus, commercially or critically. That’s why “The Takeover” line actually stung. Whereas when Cole tried that angle in “7 Minute Drill” most people scratched their heads.

He’s still one of the greatest of all time, I’m just pinning where his career was when Takeover dropped.

Yea you’re probably right that it’ll take a while before this blows over

Doesn’t help that NLU has a ton of quotables that have turned into chants worldwide

I was young but old enough to remember that Nas was on top of the hip hop world at the time man. Nobody wanted smoke with him

Ok right so exactly he's literally in the same place as Kendrick in his career.. dropped an album nobody liked and dropped 3 classics before that. Then dissed the goat to reclaim his fame and name. This beefs literally the same s*** lmaoo. I was literally there then, and here now fam lol

Like dawg, there's a huge difference why half of planet remembers Story of Adidon for the fact that Drake has a son and the other half just either forgot it or don't care about Pusha that much.

This is Kendrick Lamar we talking about, which pretty much the rest of the world knows about him.

With Kendrick, his s*** will stay in people's mind for years (deep or simple).

    I will talk about it.

I like it a lot. But it’s an interlude not a song. I always listen to it before family matters

Now we know this is a lie. Why do Drake fans lie much. No body is replaying that buried alive s***.

The original plan for that album would’ve been a hand down classic

I remember the original track list leaking and people downloading the individual tracks to compile the intended album themselves
