Early Nas just has that gritty street vibe counter to Jays smooth nonchalant style. Both very different so very much mood dependent for me

I think your only contention is that I think Kendrick’s stature in this current era at the time of this current battle is higher than Nas’ was at the specific point in time of Takeover. I agree It Was Written and Illmatic are classics, idk about I Am being classic haha that’s a little bit too loose with the term imo, but that was also plagued by leaks. Nastradamus was panned however.
