once regional sounds in rap died off a lot of the producers from that era got discarded it's trash.

same reason why some mfs don't know who Organized Noize is

New rappers could totally utilize them now even producers could collab with alot of old producers. Dre’s new sound ain’t it for me tho idk why, after relapse his beats changed drastically

    how come

because i assumed that most knew 6:16 in LA was directly mimicking (or mocking) Drake’s timestamp series based on the song title

seeing a lot of people ‘mind blown’ over Kendrick rapping from Drake’s perspective

    From Reddit:

A “euphoria” bar I don’t see discussed enough

I’ve been listening to the What’s the Dirt videos about the beef this weekend, and I figured if anyone would highlight this point it would be him…but it hasn’t happened yet. (No shade, his breakdowns are great.)

The bar I want to highlight is this: “Hellcat, made his homeboys and them types sell they soul, okay Everybody wanna be demon 'til they get chipped by your throwaway And I might do a show a day”

I think this is a clear reference to “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted,” a track by Tupac and Snoop. In one of the verses Pac says this:

“They tell me not to roll with my Glock So now I got a throw-away Floatin' in the black Benz, tryin' to do a show a day”

I think there’s a few things going on with the line. I’ll go from the least reaching to the furthest reaches:

It’s an obvious homage to Pac and a flex that Kendrick is part of the culture enough to be able to throw in references like this that Drake wouldn’t be able to do.

It’s a collab between Snoop and Pac, the two people Drake used AI to emulate in “Taylor Made Freestyle.” It’s, more or less, Kendrick saying to Drake, “You may try to imitate these guys, but I actually know their work and ethos.”

There’s a nicely implied threat of violence, like we see in the New Ho King line.

Kendrick contrasts Drake’s culture with Tupac’s culture by contrasting the Hellcat (shortly before the “everybody want to be a demon” line) with Tupac’s Benz. Drake may have sold his soul for the flashiness of the Hellcat so that he could be a demon, but he’s getting chipped by Kendrick’s throwaway as he rides in the “black Benz,” embodying the real life of slow luxury. This one is admittedly a bit of a stretch, but I think it’s interesting when you consider the clear allusion to the cars in the Hellcat/Demon lines + Tupac’s explicit mention of his Benz.

This doesn’t really move the needle on the diss or make it some hidden shot, necessarily. But, I think it’s a more complex bar than has been appreciated and shows just how skilled Kendrick is.

my theory bout an the all eyez on me influence for the next album getting stronger

drake definitely revitalized sumn in kendrick with Taylormade

probably felt like an affirmation of everything he knew bout Drake

No one mentions Buried Alive 2 lmao that s*** was so unnecessary. But maybe it was a shot at 6:16 since so many bars on there were s*** that only Drake would know

    I had no clue

i deadass thought most knew, not even tryna sound like a d***head. whole song was a mimic, from title to the sample & production. soon as i heard him mention Ibiza it clicked (granted i had to listen like 3-4 times before it all came together for me)

I heard it, it sounds luxurious,

Thrill Her sounds amazing to me
Some of the production sounds like what Mac Miller was trying to accomplish before his death
