He should’ve put that in the heart part 6
Bro he misses the point of so many of Kendrick's bars you really think he gon get that?
Nigga, stop. Y'all are the ones projecting those things on to Drake. He has ALWAYS identified as a black man. He's always had black friends. He's always had close proximity to black culture and his black side. Y'all decided none of those things were true simply because he was born and raised mostly in Toronto and he's Jewish. That's it.
If he was born an American, none of this s*** pops up and you know it.
And he never "used" anybody. That's another thing y'all made up out of nowhere to spin narratives about this man because y'all are miserable idiots.
Kendrick used Drake to propel his career early on by going on tour with an artist from a different city and featuring on his album as well. Sad.
Lmaoooo istg he thinks we go to Ebro for our opinions or something
I wouldn’t know those tweets existed if he didn’t post them
Ebro is pretty much irrelevant. Idk why he acts like he’s some gatekeeper or tastemaker
I agree that its a US vs Canada thing. Personally, for me "Not Like Us" meant that "Other regions are not like the west coast" but in the end it could be another quintuple entendre
The problem with Kendrick taking that narrative is that it was always going to be made out to be a racial thing, even if it wasn't his original intent. He also made that easier by questioning Drake's blackness multiple times across several songs. You also have Rick Ross who jumped to call him a white boy the moment he fell out with him.
Nigga you’re the one who brought up Yachty and street culture
and you did the same with drake and future .Thats the entire reason they colloborated. To mesh audiences and sounds.
People still thinking Kendrick questioned drakes blackness 3 months after the beef
Whats the last line of Euphoria?
It's funny how there was legitimately never any talk of Drake "colonizing" Atlanta for features (Future first asked him to be on Tony Montana years ago) and it was simply just "Drake & Future are MJ & Scottie of music" cause their music just complements each other well. Mutually beneficial. As are all his collabs there
Midrick knew twitter would go crazy with that one. He doesn't even believe it himself. And if he does he's delusional considering he latched onto the Club Paradise tour and Take Care for his own career advancements
Whats the last line of Euphoria?
I don’t wanna hear Daniel Cesar or Damson Idris say nigga either and they black as hell
Folks let Cole rock cuz he’s seemingly been himself from the jump, spoke on black issues etc
Drake doesn’t have to speak on black issues in his music if he doesn’t want to but he def benefits from standing next to street niggas and blending it into his aesthetics when we seen his come up
The fact that he attacks Kendrick for being a fake black power rapper when he himself only referenced our struggles in his diss song towards Meek “Charged Up” and hopped on a pop song with racist ass Camilla Cabello after the beef is going to make some people look at him funny lol
None of this means he isn't black, which is the point being made. Cole talking like an American and being raised American gives him a pass with black Americans. That's all there is to it. If you're gonna question Drake's blackness then question Cole's blackness too because I thought blackness was determined by one's actual racial make-up, not where or how they were raised?
Does a white man who was raised around black people automatically become black? And does a black person who was raised around white people automatically become white? That's why this whole argument was dumb from the jump.
I get it was an angle to use in the beef but again, folks will call it out more and more as time passes.
Anonymous black claiming avatars still whining about drakes credibility and “blackness” 3 months later

This is a stupid point because everybody code-switches and how has Drake only used his blackness when it benefits him? He IS black. He doesn't have to do anything to prove his blackness. The reason y'all say this rubbish is because he wasn't raised American. Him and Cole both have white mothers and both identity as black but somehow one has more claim to blackness than the other.
The issue is African Americans feeling like they own blackness as an identity globally. Y'all see yourselves as the only legitimate black people, that's why y'all think Canadians can't be black and Jewish people can't be black so when you have someone who has both of those identities, you automatically register that there's no way they can be black, regardless of their actual racial makeup.
I agree with what you're saying as a blanket general statement, 100%.
But Drake code switches at a higher rate than the average person, cause to your point most people code switch. His authenticity was called into question moreso than his blackness

This is it. He knew the dumb Shea Butter Twitter blacks would eat up his talking points and those are the people he appealed to.

I think you’re forgetting the part where he says “some s***s just cringe worthy it ain’t gotta be deep I guess”
Now that I bring up Damson Idris it is like Drake is playing a nigga in a movie and when the director yells cut he switches accents

There was talks of it. Drake just had so much goodwill from the public that it got drowned out.
Now that he made his heel turn these convos are more visible lol
