What's really not talked about enough is how Noname bullied Cole and Kendrick into dropping their social justice image
And then got bullied by Twitter and ig to want to drop her
Micheal Jackson's run from Off the Wall to HIStory is why I look at lines like "Four albums in 12 years nigga I can divide" as vapid and stupid.
That was only five albums in sixteen years. Don't ever see/hear anybody b**** about MJ's output. And that nigga was making pop music competing against legends. It's almost as if people don't (or moreso shouldn't) care about an artist's output if the music is quality.
Kendrick has that quality to allow him to not drop every year or two. J Cole very clearly does not.
If
“fuck the big 3 it’s just big me”
“time for him to prove that he’s a problem”
calling out his collab with drake as being disingenuous warrants a warning shot then no wonder people don’t rate cole.
It’s like someone hitting you with a haymaker out of nowhere and saying “well if you do that again, then you will see”
Cole don’t want it like that. Diss was nice though, but not being aggressive was a mistake, he runs the risk of Kendrick dropping something to where no one would be interested in a cole response anymore even if he does come with something on that level.
I partly agree with you but sometimes you have to give a slightly escalated warning shot to the warning shot just to see how serious the person is.
It's similar to war.
If you are a leader of a country and an ally who you had a relationship wants war and starts threatening you or your status, you're not gonna just drop a nuke.
You might launch a missile and tell them if they continue to threaten you, then you're be more aggressive.
I know fans and people who want to see these guys go all out want more aggression but there's a human element to this. Very hard to go at someone you like just off the rip. There's also strategy.
Even Drake dropped Charged Up (slightly escalated warning shot) to see what Meek got after he initiated the beef. And when he saw Meek wasn't like that, Drake completely destroyed him.
But yea ur right. It's risky by Cole. It could backfire and Kendrick could drop a scathing diss and make people not even care what Cole respond says after. We'll see how things play out.
Pray for drizzy then

He as much of utd fan as lebron is livarpool

That line is similar to what Jay told Nas.
He's just paying homage to Jay.
He thinks TPAB was gassed and boring and he doesn't hold Mr. Morales in high regard. He also seems to hold his albums in higher regard.
So in his head, Kendrick not dropping as frequent was suppose to be a diss.
He's obviously wrong though because TPAB is a masterpiece and he shouldn't hold his own albums in too high regard.
But what do you expect from Cole when you have yes men in the studio, can't stay focused and execute a concept album properly, and a big ego as a producer so you don't want to seek better production for your albums.
All that should change with The Fall Off hopefully.

I said something similar in another thread but maybe Kendricks doin all this just to create fuel and go on a new run with mixtapes/eps. Would love to see him go for it

Those albums were generational all timers though
Kendrick got some classics but idk if they’re those, at least not DAMN and MM&TBS

The issue is that you think he has that quality. Most people do not.
Most people feel the way Cole laid it out. Everything before GKMC is irrelevant and since GKMC he’s shooting 50% and doesn’t have the staying power of many other top rappers
