Budden back yapping that yap yap
“sometimes you gotta slow-walk the dog", implying that the response is still coming and that drake is taking his time, cooking up something special
Slow walk the dog Joe shouldn't talk about dogs dawg
Does she got ass atleast :vlosereave:
as opposed to drake fans who famously never chart watch
I used to think only Dork stans watch charts but Limpdrick stans have taken the cake this past month. All that chart watching accusations on papi's angels was insecurity the whole time
Seeing yall fight each other is hilarious but Drake stans have been taking W's not falling for the bait and taking this all in stride ngl
kendrick has 1 song with 3 weeks on the chart, drake has 20 songs with 20 weeks on the chart. this isn't an even game. no one likes kendrick music IRL.
Alright, so here are my thoughts and theories. It's kinda long so ignore it if you don't wanna engage and please, be reasonable and don't troll. I'd like to read some of y'alls thoughts about things you might or might not agree with.
Again, these are just MY THOUGHTS/THEORIES.
I don't think Kendrick chose this moment in time to jump out and take direct shots at Drake just for the sake of it. I think everything leading up from the cultural reception/commercial performance of MMATBS to how every song he's been on since then (with the exception of Like That, of course) had zero impact whatsoever, all led him to choosing to go at Drake because he knows that's really the only other card he has left to play. I think he knows how thirsty people still are to see them go at it and he knows that's a surefire way to drum up some much-needed momentum heading into his next album, which I think will drop this summer (everything is a rollout, after all).
I think Kendrick's plan was was to drop the verse on Like That and have Drake jump out immediately with a response (he probably figured that'd be what Drake would do since that's how Drake reacted to Meek and Push) and then he'd hit him with what he had in the tuck, grab a quick W and have all that momentum leading up to the summer.
I don't think Kendrick saw Like That being this big commercially and I don't think he even needed it to be big commercially. I think he just needed all the noise and chaos it'd cause, much like his Control verse did, because he knew all of it would paint him in a good light and have his name thrown into discussions again.
I think Drake has a response ready, but after the Push situation, I think he's learned to let logic lead and not emotions when heading into potential battles with rappers. I think he believes Kendrick doesn't really want to battle but simply wants all the noise and chatter around his name, similar to what he did with his Control verse and so I don't think he feels any sort of pressure to jump out the window first. I think he's ready to do so only if Kendrick goes at him again, preferably with a diss track, so he's sure he is serious about things. I also think part of the reason behind his silence is because he's trying to figure out how deep this s*** goes and he's trying to see just how many people have turned against him and what the industry agenda is against him.
I think Drake will release an album this year where he addresses EVERYTHING and more.

You could think she's talking about Lil Pump mind you she's talking about Kendrick freaking Lamar Drake's stans copping with an L is always a sight to behold.
It's been 3 weeks what is he writing at this point ? A book ? He hired a private investigator or sum ?
It's just becoming clearer and clearer that he's probably not going to answer because who would care if that thing comes next month. The delay is already a huge L by itself.
Even you don't believe any of this.

What L?

At what point Kendrick ever needed someone's buzz ? He could surprise drop in an hour and everyone will be talking about his release let's not act like he's not that guy please.

Drake stans are on a mission to make you believe that Kendrick freaking Lamar needs Drake's shine the one who had grandmas singing "be humble" needs someone else's shine like come on now what are we doing here

It helped his cousin get the biggest record of his career a man entire year before Mr morale was released.

Kendrick isn’t dropping every few months, doesn't trend hop & doesn’t fish for hits but you know this

all that matters is hits and consistency. keep the pretentious themes for white critics

Very well thought out take grounded in reality and I think all of your points are extremely plausible outside of kendrick dropping this summer
I don’t think he’s dropping but I do think he realized he had to do something to maintain relevancy in his off time because the reception to steppers was soft and it let people down after waiting so long for it.
I really think the majority of his beef is aimed at Drake and he didnt expect or want to battle Cole. He was ecstatic when he saw j Cole didn’t want to buy into it completely and laid down his sword cus now Kendrick thinks he doesn’t have to go at him.
Drake has little to prove at this point as he’s met the challenge for any rapper who ever tested him, win lose or draw. He knows a verse full of direct subs doesn’t warrant him going all out. Plus he’s seeing all of the people going against him and he will pick his targets methodically to not be overwhelmed.
Slowly but surely the public narrative is shifting as more people gang up against Drake. A lot of people already looking at metro as a cornball. Drake is smart so he’ll measure the right time to launch his counterattack.

His last album didn't do s***. Every other song he hopped on after that didn't do s*** till he got on a song sending shots at Drake. That's what got niggas excited about his music again. So, no, you're wrong.
all that matters is hits and consistency. keep the pretentious themes for white critics
Yeah real artistry doesn’t matter at all just make half baked generic bullshit every 6 months and drop that s*** so the lowest common denominator consumer can eat it up and spit it out like they always do
You niggas make me f***in sick
