Apr 13, 2024thegreatdivineI don't even think its first week alone was the reason why it was an underperformance because all things considered, 295k isn't a terrible debut. It's how it performed AFTER the first week. It left the Billboard 200 after 70 weeks. In comparison, TPAB charted for twice as long and GKMC/DAMN are still charting. That's why it underperformed really. Not that hard to understand.
It underperformed across-the-board. 295K isn't an outright flop, but considering the wait and hype it should've done closer to 400K. Especially as Drake did 600K some months before that.
But you are correct, the real issue is how it performed afterwards. It's simple, people just didn't like the album. But his weird fans struggle to realize it for whatever reason.
