I can’t believe that Kendrick was pulling his catelog from Spotify for R Kelly. Why was this news ignored at that time??
it wasn't lmao
A lot of head cannon but:
Drake’s biggest asset is also his biggest downfall. He’s always been vulnerable and that’s what led to his music resonating with him but also made him an easy target for criticism (without even mentioning his background). I think he did a good job up until NWTS with balancing this but clearly something shifted going into IYRT but still felt the genuine side of him in music around that time. I truly believe that Meek s*** f***ed him up so badly and where the overcompensation started exponentially growing and the Kanye/Push s*** basically put it completely over the edge. It sucks that he has lost a lot of what made him loved in the beginning but I also understand having to deal with so much s*** (whether warranted or not) can get to a person after a long period of time
The celebrity. It’s not only Drake. It gets to athletes too.
Tim Duncan never allowed the lights to consume him.
Iverson did.
It’s all how you handle life away from the lights. Kendrick and Cole balance it well. But apart of the balance is not being as popular and accessible.
Drake took the other route. He is at the parties, has the friends and it can be draining. Especially for someone like Drake who is also very sensitive and passionate about his persona things.
for me personally, nwts was where it started getting old and tired, he was still vulnerable sappy and boyishly honest, but now it was like a redo of take care and it felt old. Bro definitely ran that vulnerable card to the ground and the boyish honesty is on some manchild bitterness, it's working for this toxic generation but damn I wonder if that nigga will ever grow up
I think that’s fair. The music quality was still evolving so at least as an artist there was growth. I do get why people could get tired of it after awhile even as someone who loves/loved that s*** lol
And don't ask me about @Nikedufflebag he don't make his own posts, that's why he ain't quote my posts cause we found out

Lmao at that kanye cope at the end. You so shameless with it
I feel like Kendrick is going to use this angle in his diss. It’s not gonna be a Pusha T type response, revealing some scathing personal info. It’s more than likely going to be a dissection of his character and how he could be perceived as a culture vulture. How he uses guys like Future, Ross and 21 Savage, even Sexy Redd more recently to help create this persona. And I like Drake as an artist, he makes good music but it’s kinda true, he’s a bit of a Parody of the genre at times.
Drake does not make the same efforts to move the real-life culture that Kendrick does, but he thrives off creating this generic superficial image of it while claiming to be a part of it. His earlier work seemed more genuine but he was known as the sensitive rapper, he was perceived as soft, but he’s tried his hardest to shed that image and now his subject matter leans more towards mob ties and getting p****, but it doesn’t get much deeper than that and it doesn’t necessarily have to, but it’s not really genuine, It’s not what he actually comes from. It’s very superficial but that’s why he sells so well, as well as structuring his songs in a way that’s digestible to a large audience, he knows how to make a hit.
I always thought buried alive on take care was really interesting song because it always seemed like Kendrick was uncomfortable around him. Kendrick might do something very left field but that could backfire if it doesn’t resonate with the majority.
well said, i agree. i used to reallllllyy like drake. but post nothing was the same, i feel like his character changed and became kind of fake
Lmao at that kanye cope at the end. You so shameless with it

Controversial take but the way Peter Griffin from Family Guy feels about The Godfather is how I feel about NWTS lol

My uncle is a producer for TDE and he told me Kendrick is posting Heart Part VI on page 6666
Wtf
yeah that video is crazy, kinda shows how fake drake is - or one could argue people change as they get older - they do, but it still speaks to how soft he grew up, so its kind of weird how hard he acts now
Lmaaooo Nikedufflebag owns a piece of evidence against every Drake stans
Just happened to be in the right threads at the wrong time
