These were wild first listens. Both legendary link ups with hilariously tragic results.
Watching both of these domestic dispute videos side by side is funny too
Stepdad more bumpable for me tbh
We Cry Together is literally 1000 times better tf
In what sense? The message is better but Stepdad at least sounds like music and not my parents
Alchemist said in an interview that Kendrick was sitting on the We Cry Together beat since 2013
The beat is old af
Mr morale meh as f*** but this low-key a Kendrick hate thread
Yeah because comparing him to a GOAT like Em is hate
We Cry Together is not a super replayable song, but it’s executed very well regardless.
Stepdad sounds like an Eminem parody but it’s not.

We cry together is bad but it's not as bad as Stepdad. At least Kendrick tried something
We cry together is an actual good song but as soon as people hear a theatrical concept they think the song has no value.

"u wont hear it in the club!!"
Actually hilarious that they both got the Alc beat and decided to get super conceptual

We Cry Together is Kendricks second alc beat. The first is FEAR.

Which is also pretty conceptual

“Not super repayable” is a nice way to put it. It’s an active obstacle in listening to the album in a lot of situations. People I know who don’t even make playlists have the album edited so that doesn’t come on, and I get it.
I can agree the execution is better but I’d honestly rather listen to Stepdad. Both are just hilarious to me that they did this s*** on these beats tho

It’s not the theatrical concept it’s just the screaming, I like other theatrical Kendrick stuff
