damn his best album and got s*** on by fans so probably
It doesn’t matter how good it is, it will be received badly and y’all gonna cap about the quality. Look at WLR and Big Day.
you say that as if the big day didn’t deserve to get trashed lmao
People on KTT really setting the bar low for Kendrick by comparing his next album with the likes of WLR & The Big Day
ikr
Kendrick's in my personal top 10 but DAMN to me is a textbook definition of a "forced classic."
There's nothing that DAMN does better than GKMC and TPAB. Kendrick's rapping, lyricism, storytelling, and concept songs were executed much better in those albums. And GKMC's radio songs aged better than DAMN's which is why Money Trees blew up on TikTok while Humble didn't.
That being said, there's definitely some cap being said here. Someone said TPAB couldn't be panned because of its content.
Niggas forgot that Nas tried to put out his own TPAB back in 08 called Untitled and it was panned by critics big time. His album with Damian Marley which was conscious was panned too. Also, damn near every J Cole album is panned compared to Kendrick's.
So, why didn't it work for Nas and Cole like it did for Kendrick?

LMAO
aside from that horrible comprehension of longevity, good post
Big Day is garbage & WLR sounds rushed
Idk what point @op is trying to make when we have artist like Frank & D'angelo who have taken extensive gaps between releases & still got the acclaim they deserved for beautiful pieces of art
Basically, there's 3 possibilities for Kendrick's 4th album:
1. It will be a complete miss like Encore
2. It will be polarizing and semi-panned but grow on people over time like 808's and Heartbreak
3. It will be a classic or high quality album like Stankonia
Not many solo rappers have 4-Peated on high quality albums. Kanye's probably the only one tbh.

Kendrick already has 4 high quality albums.

He already has four quality albums
808s wasn’t high quality
Plenty of rappers have 4 peated on quality albums
Kendrick is the hip hop media darling he couldn't ever be dragged to hell. And Punch calls up anybody with a platform who even tries to kinda do anything but praise Kendrick to kill that s***

op is an idiot and only makes trash threads
Kendrick already has 4 high quality albums.
yeah and like joe budden said, kendrick is the only rapper to have 4-peated when judging albums objectively
It's the opposite. People will pretend to like it more than they do, especially white people.
Maybe with Drake or someone else you could've made this comparison
No way Kendrick gets bad reviews unless the narrative changes and white publications start to think they can get cool points from their friends and readers by dunking on him.
For better or worse, liking Kendrick has become an easy way for white people to virtue signal that they consider themselves an "ally"
