Shabazz999I've said itt that Kendrick probably won't surpass DAMN.'s numbers because of the decline in pure sales. My beef is with the hater itt saying he can't outperform DAMN.'s streamimg debut based entirely on nothing.
Scorpion outperformed Views despite having a smaller first week sales output. That's how I see the progression from DAMN. to this next album, a much larger streaming debut and much smaller pure sales debut.
VIEWS was only on Apple Music in it's first two weeks. This is a bad example. Streaming has been Increasing exponentially year after year but it will soon reach a saturation point, especially in the US. International markets still haven't experienced the kind of boom the US market experienced in streaming so they still have a lot of room to grow. That's why I said that, lol.

DelejaynNo I’m the grand scheme of music. Look at the list of the best albums of the decade. Drake didn’t make the top 10 or 20 or 30 on most list. Kendrick made that on every list. So did Kanye. It’s a big difference. The same gap that exist commercially exists critically.

Oh yeah, of course it wouldn't. The formula to winning in the streaming era is longevity. Even if you debut with weak numbers, you'll eventually make it up. Stoney is the best example of this. If Kendrick's next album has better longevity than DAMN, whatever his first week numbers end up being won't matter.

literally every artist in the 90s that had massive sales are still mentiomed today because they have been able to get residenceies, go on tour etc thus adding to their legacy.
