    Reminder:

DAMN sold about 100k more than More Life, which was Drakes latest album at the time πŸ˜„

Bruh Damn came off the hype of Humble which went #1 the week before it was released and bumped the albums streams massively for its 1st week sales it also came off of the hype of the "diss" the heart part 4. All that and Damn wasnt even close to Take care numbers. Drake also didnt release physical copies, if you think kdot will come close to Drake numbers....go aheadπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he aint outselling him. Scorpion in 5x platinum already and that s*** came out last year.

said it once and ill say it again ... i will never understand ppl who stan mega pop stars like drake, taylor, etc.

    its like stanning walmart

Not like Drake was an underground artist and worked his was up to become the biggest artist in the world... weird huh

People think it'll be easier to do 500/600K SPS units henceforth are dumb. Pure sales are dead. Digital sales are dead. Bundles are no longer allowed and pulling even 400 million US streams in a week isn't an easy thing. Even Post Malone couldn't do it with the album he dropped last year.

There's a misconception with Billboard's new merchandise bundle rule. Merchandise bundles are still a factor, however they must be sold on the artist's official merch store, not through a third party website; and they must be sold along side unbundled merch options at the same price. Billboard made no changes on tour bundles which account for higher pure sales inflation than merch bundles. No big rapper has tied tour bundles with an album yet, besides Post Malone if you consider him a rapper.

As far as Kendrick's next album is concerned, the tracklist length will be the biggest factor for its first week sales.

    every big artist works hard.

the ceo of walmart also prob works hard, you dont see any1 stanning him

so weird to invest energy in something that doesnt benefit u at all.

  • Jan 7, 2020

like i said its distinct from supporting innovative artists that can inspire or open new paths for u

    but mainstream hit makers ??

ill say a song/album is dope but im not trying to cape for them online. especially when half their discog is mid to trash

The number 1 reason why people love drakes music is its relatability. It gives the audience something to relate to and identify with the artist, which is why artists with emotional music are so BIG. Thats why people "stan" him they relate to the artist and get attached through music so when you offend the artist they take offence themselves. The Ceo of walmart is unknown by over 90% of the country you dingbat, thats a completely nonsensical argument. Even still hes a hero and rolemodel to some, Im sure people would defend him πŸ˜‚ theh just aint on KTT DUH.

  • Jan 7, 2020

Amazing how people still undermine Kendrick's star power, even when an album cut with no pop appeal like Mona Lisa could outstream the rest of a highly anticipated album like C5, let alone be the most streamed song in the country that week. If Kendrick decides to release a lead single it's undoubtedly going to smash off anticipation alone.

    What is your point?

Ok Damn had a lil big sean diss and a #1 single but Scorpion had THREE NUMBER ONE SINGLES as well as Drake being involved in the biggest beef since Nas vs Hov AND it had ELEVEN songs more than Damn and it still only sold 100k more πŸ˜‚

Also, lets not forget how Drakes music was basically unavoidable on spotify

That doesnt matter. #1 singles only matter if the album dropped during the time it was HOT because it increses the streaming numbers for the first week. Scorpion was never released when god's plan was hot and in my feelings got hot two weeks after release. Thus it stunted its first week sales...which you are comparing. In comparison to kendrick who had a near perfect rollout and gained max first week sales due to Humble that also gave him his highest fw sales EVER.

Idk where yall get these arguments from, HUMBLE's on-demand streams from DAMN's debut week didn't even account for 15% of DAMN's total streams. Delete HUMBLE and it still wouldve been the second album to ever surpass 300 million streams. DAMN had 9/10 and 14/16 of the biggest on-demand songs that week, the other two being Mask off at 10 and XOTL at 12.
