Bruh Damn came off the hype of Humble which went #1 the week before it was released and bumped the albums streams massively for its 1st week sales it also came off of the hype of the "diss" the heart part 4. All that and Damn wasnt even close to Take care numbers. Drake also didnt release physical copies, if you think kdot will come close to Drake numbers....go ahead😂😂😂 he aint outselling him. Scorpion in 5x platinum already and that s*** came out last year.

You’re blaming Kendrick for a great album rollout strategy?

Idk where yall get these arguments from, HUMBLE's on-demand streams from DAMN's debut week didn't even account for 15% of DAMN's total streams. Delete HUMBLE and it still wouldve been the second album to ever surpass 300 million streams. DAMN had 9/10 and 14/16 of the biggest on-demand songs that week, the other two being Mask off at 10 and XOTL at 12.

First off idk where you got that 15% number from BUT as I clearly said it was humble in association with his near perfect ROLLOUT that gave him his highest fw sales

Dawg what? .... where the f*** did I say that? All I said was the album had a near perfect rollout which massively capitalised off of the buzz from a semi surprise album, #1 single and a sneak diss record all dropped in the space of a month. You think he gon a get all that again? And outsell drake? When post malone aint even crossed 500k lol.

Uh I got it from Billboard's on-demand songs chart genius, and you said Humble "bumped Damn's streams massively".

The only reason people on ktt like to underrate damn is so they can overrate TPAB

I mean I can’t see the future. He did it once and he seems to constantly improve so why are you so sure he can’t do it again

  • Jan 7, 2020

Every artist with a substantial fan base should do a rollout like DAMN

    Idiotic that they don’t.

Constantly improving does not equal to commercial success. Kendrick had his biggest fw sale in 2017...we're in 2020. Hes gonna do great but not better than drakes numbers fo sure. If post malone aint breaking 500k then I doubt kdot will tbh

Because it did. Not just from direct streams BUT also indirectly from people hearing the song all over radio and listening to the album as a whole. This is why labels tend to drop albums with a hit song because people tend to attempt to listen to or buy an album with a hit song accompanying it. And also didnt kdot have preorders as well??? Idk if im wrong about that as well

Dropping an album with hit singles also applies to Scorpion. That wasn't your intial argument, whatever. I've already said I don't see Kendrick outselling Drake, but this idea that his album will do worse than DAMN streaming wise is ridiculous.

Obviously it will do better streaming wise because the streaming industry got much bigger. However I expect less fw sales.

Still doubt it. I could see it though.

Drake is the definition of a mainstream pop star who constantly puts out the most mainstream songs one could imagine

This would make sense if the didnt just drop War, Omerta, Diplomatic Immunity etc

Well i mean saying it will outsell cole is obvious

But kendricks sales depend on how accessible it sounds

  • Jan 7, 2020

Im not sure it’ll outdo DAMN’s numbers and saying it’ll beat Drake’s next studio album is kinda laughable.

The good question here is "will he outsell Cole?"
