I love me some physical media. I have ocd tho lol (not pretend cliche ocd real deal ocd) and I’m so obsessed with the idea of it being one crystallized perfect movie that two discs throws me off. Even the long intermission in the theater made it feel like two movies and got my ocd going

I have LOTR trilogy on 4k disc but I still have to watch the streaming version bc the two disc split throws me off for some reason

I had never seen either part start to finish. Watched The Whole Bloody Affair.

Pt 1 is crack. Tarantino making an actual action movie. Yuen Woo-ping doing this and the Matrix and Crouching Tiger all around the same time is crazy. GOAT blockbuster choreographer. Tarantino setting it all to every needle drop he liked in the past 50 years of cinema. Perfection.

Pt 2 goes back to the states and reverts to a Tarantino movie. Some high highs, but honestly there are some clunky pieces of dialogue. "Which R" etc. I hardly ever say that about Tarantino. The emotional core of the story is also really dumb. Honestly, I think Madsen's whole lying about selling the sword because it was a gift from Bill reveal was way slicker than the daughter still alive, amicability with abusive groomer ex nonsense.
