I get where he coming from. really speaks to martin and crew to have a diverse group of people working on this project and saying how they feel about it openly. obviously, my own opinion will be formed. Martin is a master at showcasing complicated characters

Responses to this s*** have been embarrassing as hell.
Either people jumping down this man’s throat (for a movie they haven’t even seen yet) and criticizing him for a giving a well articulated critique that isn’t even condemning or dismissive of the movie itself, or you get the responses to Grace Randolph’s retweet of this, where they call the movie another white savior picture, Scorsese is a racist and that they have no intention to see it at all.

I’ve seen a few reviews calling this out as well that it still feels like a white mans perspective on this story and that they wish it was centered more around the Indians. Personally though, this is technically a white mans story considering it’s based on a book from the FBIs perspective so it doesn’t bother me.
End of the day, he’s speaking on his perspective, which is a perspective we don’t get much of, and that should be respected and he was still extremely positive on the movie.

even he said a movie from the osage perspective should be done by someone of Osage descent so it's not like he saying Scorsese shouldn't have made the movie, it's simply the nature of the beast in my opinion
You tell a story of this magnitude, you WILL indeed get varying opinions on how you approach the topic.

Could see this coming tbh

Fr, idk how ppl can even be upset about what he said especially considered how small of a voice native Americans have in this country as well as the history they went through

not gonna take a strong position til I see the film
but I hate the perspective that straight white authors can only write about straight white people. part of storytelling is putting yourself in somebody else's shoes, and as long as that's done with the right intentions and research it's fine imo
he says this is a story that should be told by Native American voices, which I can understand, but if this was told by an up and coming Native American director it would at best be straight to Netflix and largely forgotten
this film is getting so much hype because it's Scorsese, and he made efforts to meet with and learn from the Osage community and add their perspective to the film
from the trailers of killers i think that dicaprio and deniro are bad guys?
who knows maybe im wrong
my amc finally decided to add dolby screenings the day it comes out, just switched out my liemax ticket
Which should I go with, IMAX Laser or Dolby for this?
Dolby
This film wasn’t even filmed with imax cameras and doesn’t have any scenes with expanded aspect ratio
got tickets for later today
Leo tryna get his "you talking to me?" moment
