I don't think he was saying what you think he was saying and he was just depicting the kind of relationship that happened alot more casually back in the day
“Does it surprise you how some people are reacting to the age difference between Alana and Gary?
There’s no line that’s crossed, and there’s nothing but the right intentions.”
A 25 year old kissing a 15 year old and showing him her b**** is 100% crossing the line. I think I understand exactly what he said, and I disagree. That’s not changing. Is that type of stuff allowed to be shown in film? Of course, look at Red Rocket. But I don’t have to agree with him defending his characters.
Tarantino is notorious for using the word nigga (hard R) in his films. Is he allowed to do that? Of course. Do I agree with him defending himself in saying “it’s just a word, y’all needa stop putting power behind these words” 100% not.

It's f*** apple tv. It's f*** Netflix. It's f*** ecery streaming service for pull this s***. Need criterion to try and pull through.
Feel like I need to rewatch it to catch s*** but also gonna be a long time before I can rewatch coz this is a loooong movie. I respect and appreciate Scorsese making longer films in the current climate but they could've shaven 30 mins off and still gotten everything across imo
7/10 on first watch for me
Was like a 7/10 for me on first watch but on rewatches is like a 9, really grew on me
Ernest’s cognitive dissonance in this movie is really something to behold. His power of denial is stunning
