I think he’s referring to America more specifically
I don’t think it will be a decade, but it would certainly be unrealistic to think by the end of next year it will be normal
But if other countries are back to normal, why would America take so long? Granted we have a disproportionate about of idiots in this country, but other countries were able to get their act together without the help of a vaccine
In some ways the Quarantine made me better and taught me about the world, and I don't disagree with OP in some ways. But this COVID s*** is finished by summer next year.
Also the whole "it'll take a decade to make s*** better" is also correct in it's own way, but the average person doesn't think on that level anyways.
ive been able to get some s*** done and think about stuff that i might've not been able to. ive updated my wardrobe, which was getting pretty worn out, im buying some new furniture and s*** for my room, and ive thought about what direction i want to go in for my career
on top of that, ive been saving a bunch of money.

Because America is a bunch of idiots
1/1000 of ever person in South Dakota has died from covid but they have no lockdown/mask mandate
F*** all that I’m itching to go back to the bars
Why? That’s the place where you’ll meet new people the most?

You trying to smash a beautiful white woman ?
I've thought a lot about this and tbh my life is pretty easy during COVID. I'm very fortunate that my wife and I have good remote jobs; really, we could do nothing different for another year and probably get away with it.
But nah, I would trade my simple, easy routine for things going back to the way they were. The constant anxiety about getting sick and the inescapable reality that thousands of Americans are dying from this each day outweighs the benefits of lockdown. Plus, I'm an extrovert and want to go have fun with my friends again. I miss them. Not to mention they are suffering financially in ways I am not.

Wife?
you buggin f*** this covid s***
i mean yes people are suffering, of course i want this to end
but at the same time, I dont like the old times, where you had to meet new people and like be presentable to others and like put my best foot forward and act the best i can be in front of others

nah i mean aside from the actual virus
you dont have to be that way tho. there’s nobody forcing you to its only you that thinks you should. societal standards are not real. you couldve done the same (besides maybe working from home if you do) pre-covid and some people did and all this changed nothing for them. what you do with your life doesn’t have to depend on what everyone else around you is doing because its yours. if you give a f*** about what other people think then your life is not yours its theirs
how many years u think it'll take before everythings back to normal
Lol everything will be somewhat normal 1 year from now.
Its not like things are insanely different now.

I’m close with people that work at the FDA. We are so much more f***ed than you realize. If the general public really knew what was going on, there would be mass panic.
But yeah! I’m sure this will be all fixed up next year!

Yeah bullshit... everything goes back to normal once we have a vaccine up and running. People aren’t following social distancing rules and mask rules NOW. Once there’s any semblance of a vaccine people aren’t going to give a s*** about masks
