Bad faith interpretation disclaimer: I do not approve of the US military, the Vietnam War was unjustifiable pointless bloodshed, it's alarming that the the US government's official stance is that any achievement by someone other than a white man is an example of DEI, I am not shedding tears for a child-murdering Vietnam vet, I'm just shocked at the open racism, I also acknowledge that the US government has consistently acted in a manner that reinforces white supremacy for its entire existence, but I think that openly doing so makes the problem even worse by emboldening people less-versed in the country's history to see racism as acceptable and endorsed at the state level, being no longer something that can result in real consequences, yes, the US government has always been racist, but this shift in the culture compounds the problem in a dangerous way
