Word I feel you, I guess it all depends on what your individual idea of "greatest" means. It ain't Bron though you right

Don’t get me wrong LeBron is a goat but if we comparing him to Kobe it’s not close
Kobe was a stone cold killer while bron couldn’t even take the last shot in the all star game

  • Jul 15, 2020

Kobe is the most SKILLED basketball player to ever lace them up. Greatness can be debated and is subjective.

The greatest players of all time w/ peak performance, all around talent/skill set, accolades & longevity all in mind are -

    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
    3. Magic Johnson
    4. Kobe Bryant
    5. LeBron James

Shaq, Wilt, Russell, Hakeem, Duncan, Bird and a few others are close but fall after the 5 I listed. Those guys are undoubtedly top 5 and Kobe is not #1 (and this is coming from one of his biggest fans)

Duncan is Kobe lvl, just wasn't flashy

Duncan had the advantage of playing under one system his entire career and always having a solid supporting cast and foundation around him that helped him prosper

If MJ hadn’t retired twice as reigning 3-peat champion he could have 8 rings easily

Olajuwon would’ve been on that ass though

Yeah cos he had mite talent. More rings doesn’t justify who’s better if that’s the case bill russell is the king

putting rings completely aside, MJ was the clearly more dominant player.

one is a 2x scoring champion
one is a 10x scoring champion

    one has 5 MVPs
    one has 1 MVP

and MJ could have had more...

    "carried"

maybe not 2001 and 2002 but 2000 he did alot
    and 3 FMVPs

Duncan was always the main guy in spurs

  • Jul 15, 2020

    not even top 5 lol

    Lol no

In 2000, Kobe averaged 22.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg & 5 apg, all while typically guarding the other teams best ball handler.

In 1999 (Spurs 1st championship), Tim averaged 21.7 ppg, 11.4 rpg & 2.4 apg & of course played elite defense in the paint.

I’d say their numbers & impact are highly comparable in both of their first championship runs which happens to be, according to you, where Kobe was carried by Shaq & Tim was “the man.”

And Tim most certainly was not “the man” when they won in 2014

yea kobe and duncan are very comparable in their career accomplishments even though obviously v different positions and skillsets

I would put kobe over duncan but they belong in the conversation together

the eye test of him playing losing iso ball? i understand why people love it, and it’s fun to watch, but it’s not a winning formula

i love Kobe, the man. but to keep it a buck, Kobe the basketball player is slightly overrated. he’s an all time great , but is he even top 5? i don’t know

just say he’s your all time favorite player and go. we respect that sentiment. many people have it. but to call him the GOAT shows you’re biased, willfully ignorant about the game of basketball, or both

    peace and love brother

Kobe, GiGi i love u i miss you both everyday 🙏🏽 it’s mamba for life

He played a lot iso ball because niggas on his team sucked and he was just a killer like that he wanted to win the game. To say he overrated is blasphemous lmao. This dude is top 3 easy.
