I know he’s trying to be good to his artists but he needs some real features man. Wtf lmao. like damn Kodak.
I'd rather him collab with people he actually believes in and aligns with than force a generic song the same 4-8 rappers that EVERYONE in the industry has on their album, just for what? clout? Kodak is one of the best rappers his generation, and he doesn't need Anyone to bolster his stats or get a wave from.
If he works with any hot rapper it's typically just business
“I got a song called 'Moshpit' with Juice WRLD, just for like the streaming people," he said.
"It's not really my favorite, but I know it's gon' stream. People gon’ eat that up. Like, with Lil Pump, I would never really work with him, but I did it, and it’s gon’ stream.”

I am a fan of Juice WRLD but while Juice was alive, Kodak personally said that he didn't listen to Juice's music that much but put him & Lil Pump on his Dying To Live album anyways bc he knows they stream well. and despite him not enjoying those artists, he still made hard songs with them. but he doesn't need to is the point.
I think it's better for Kodak to make the stuff he really wants and not chase validation from the industry who will ride his wave, steal his flows, copy his image, and still never give him his props.
Cardi B, one of the modern day music superstars literally got her career kick-started by biting a song he made at 16.

No one’s trying to listen to garbage artists🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I’d rather hear Kodak with Luh Tyler, someone out the ordinary like Nas, etc. and him not rapping this kill kill bs he was on last album. His previous albums had wayyyyyyyyy more perspective
Nah, they’re horrible especially the woman. HORRIBLE
i got a crush on her ngl
Nothing that you said is necessarily conflicting with what I’m saying
Obviously he’s extremely profitable and labels don’t wanna let go of him. It’s more so how much money they wanna put into him while they have him. Touring, promo, radio play, access to resources etc etc etc etc
I just think Kodak's criminal history, excessive d*** use, face tattoos, foul language, rape cases, and overall funny but wildcard personality make him hard for corporations to support and prop up into the mainstream.

you're right about the last bit, Kodak definitely doesn't embrace the same type of content as he did when he first started
albums like Institution, Project Baby Lil B.I.G. Pac he was really just speaking from his soul and I think the stuff he made back then despite still being Street music had a much more global appeal bc it was so much pain and emotion and even wisdom from a person who the world viewed as a delinquent and a f***up.
Durk n Moneybagg outshining this mid album that’s dropping
moneybagg drops that day too?

damn i never knew he said this lol
always in for yak
artwork horrendous but that's no surprise since Dying to Live
I actually like the artwork
I'm in.
I don't like how Atlantic has handled Kodak the past couple of years. " Dying to Live" was the last time they seemed to care. I'm glad this is his last album with them.
Hopefully Capitol is a better situation for him.
"the label doesn't invest in Kodak"
also the label

!https://youtu.be/leus2UUJN0I!https://youtu.be/86YyfrLVZpU!https://youtu.be/lquNPPJavFw!https://youtu.be/JVGXlYl3YjoBack For Everything had some of his most introspective songs he's ever made so I disagree with you.
The guy you responded to said he only wasn't like that on his most recent album - which I agree with. But it's defo not a trend
Dying to live is top tier & painting pictures.
Kodak is like Drake where we take that initial run for granted because he became such a household name. Niggas be falling off after them first few songs that s*** is to be applauded lol
