Everything you’ve said in this thread suggest the opposite. Even if you really are a good father I’d suggest rethinking all of these thoughts about violence towards children before you do something to your kids you will regret forever.

idk I’m a pretty happy guy for what it’s worth.Maybe im becoming old school. But either way I don’t exactly want kids. Love kids. Love teaching them about the world as it’s completely brand new to them. But I don’t have the financial means if I did end up having one and I don’t think i have the mental capacity to even take that challenge on right now. I don’t really think I ever want to have a child. It is ALLOT of responsibility and this world is changing so fast that I can’t imagine raising a human in it
You can be happy even if you have trauma but it definitely shapes your way of thinking specially about things like this.
A lot of the people in here who say “my parents hit me and I turned out okay” are saying it because they were taught that their parents loved them but they were also hurt by their parents actions and they were too young to process the effects of that so their developing brains normalized the abuse and unless they get serious therapy that will stick with them forever.
Look into trauma informed care if you are interested. That’s the basis of everything we do at the juvie I work at because for a teenager to do something to land themselves in jail their was likely trauma that normalized that behavior to them. Not always abuse, trauma comes in many forms.

It’s not the spanks, it’s what the spanks are a product of, which is bad parenting. And it all plays a role in shaping how a kid grows and develops
