My take is that while I personally lean towards not spanking kids I don't think its fair to label parents as abusers for giving out a couple smacks here and there.

I wouldnt spank my children but I wouldn't judge another father or a mother for spanking theirs as long as they are nott over doing it.

I think theres ways to say that you disagree with spanking without labeling the parents "shit parents" or abusers.

To me they're the same, regardless of the relationship dynamic (which I agree exists), because I see physical violence inflicted on anyone as fundamentally the same except for rare circumstances like self defence.

The point of the question was to figure out why people think they're different topics and then continue down that line.
