The point is that it’s not okay or beneficial to the child either way. Both ppl (parents and day care worker/babysitter) have authority over the child and both ppl should not resort to violence with a child for obvious, similar reasons.

Hitting children is just an outlet for violence. You wouldn’t do the same thing against an adult who clearly knows they’re doing bad things because you know they’ll hit back
