yeah and that's what it looks like to be a new artist lol. idk what point youre tryna make here
If his music was actually good I’m sure the ratio won’t be this bad

he just got added lol im sorry but you're showing a lack of understanding of the various spotify metrics and doin it all to hate on a dude you don't even know, it's pretty lame
if the followers climb, its a good sign, if they don't, it's an unfortunate result of the spotify editorial game. but idk what you're tryna insinuate by pointing out a new artist's spotify follower numbers lol

Well, we shall see
nah its not random honestly. there are a few different ways to do it (get on good blogs that spotify curators read, go viral somewhere or have your song be somewhere, be signed, have a plugged in manager or distributor, etc) but from OP's point it sounds like it was aided by the distributor (united masters) + being in 2k potentially which is dope
but yea once you make one they have an eye on you, so when you submit your next song as long as the quality stays up there's a great chance it'll get playlisted again. that's what happened for me, it's really a slow, consistent build at least in my experience
great advice fam, I use landr & it seems like they aren’t really helpful with this stuff, should I switch to UM or something else? A friend also told me he knew a few mutuals that had been playlisted so I can’t believe it’s crazy difficult. I think Apple Music you have to be plugged I believe to make their playlists if I’m not wrong

apple music yeah you def have to be plugged, they dont have a submission tool the same way that spotify does so the only apple music playlists ive gotten on have come thru my distributor (stem) pitching me to them directly, and you gotta know someone or have a relationship with the distributor to get that kind of support
i would honestly say just use distrokid, i know nothing about landr besides their mastering tool so yea i wouldnt recommend it. i would stick to the basic s*** and build stuff on your own until someone like a manager comes into the picture and helps you find a more personalized distributor
there are still some pretty big independent artists who get playlisted and use distrokid, its one of the cheapest and most user friendly options and has pretty much all the tools the others have

Oh interesting 🤔 never heard of stem but I’ll check them out, seems like no one is coming up thru them for some reason, I playlisted my song months before to Spotify & it never sent it thru? so I feel that

yea stem is unfortunately like an invite only thing. they didnt use to be but now they are. and yea you can submit to spotify that doesnt guarantee that they'll add it. but at the very least you can tell them about the song and stuff, while apple doesn't have that kind of thing

oh bet I’ll have to check that out, you know anyone with a spare invite ? Is it based of plays or etc or is it any artist can promo thru them? yeah I just had a whole thing where my ex manager stole my masters so I been trying to find new ways to put myself out

i dont spend anything on promo anymore tbh, sometimes IG promo or youtube promo but not too much ¯_(ツ)_/¯ video budget depends on the videographer
