if you don't bawl your eyes out every time you hear Baby Boy you're not a real man
no, he was complaining about being treated like that in real life
It's both sides to that coin.
if you don't bawl your eyes out every time you hear Baby Boy you're not a real man
i'll just listen to sly stone
It's both sides to that coin.
not at all
he was very explicit about the album being autobiographical
Man . . . My opinion is
. . .
. . .
. . .
It had one song i liked
One song that was fire for some months
And damn it everything else showed potential.
Give me a album like urn feels like summer me and your momma
And that's really what Awaken my love had the potential to be and is what it's acclaimed as right now.
I mean it's aight. Redbone is a classic and will go down as one, Me and Your Mama is pretty good too. The rest is passable Sly Stone and George Clinton cosplay.
Dope, but very transparent in terms of what influenced the sound on that album
not at all
he was very explicit about the album being autobiographical
I been around since EP. I know what your talking about
But it still comes across that way even if he explains it away his word choice and lyrics weren't really the best to express that feeling because everything was so punchline infested.
not as good as I remembered it
not his best but could be worse. good highs
cause they skim through it
i like a couple songs on it but it feels like he's straining himself and poorly imitating other musicians
This is a good album and his best album
Not very creative but took a lot of effort and I appreciate it
I appreciate what he did. Since I was a Gambino fan during EP I missed the silly/depressive persona sometimes. But it still peaked through in tracks like California. Songs like baby boy and Me and your mama are some of his best ever. Is it my favorite Gambino project? No. But it’s easily his best and most mature.
Good album with a classic song
California
his music was pretty anti black at the beginning tbh
How? Also keep in mind his music was at times shock rap.
Idk on Camp he seemed to be complaining that black people didn’t accept him because he was a nerd and didn’t like his music cause he wasn’t rapping about selling d**** and killing people
as if ATCQ, Lupe, Kanye and Drake don’t exist
That's not anti black it's being open about your insecurities and raising a question.
On one hand I'm not a fan of the "I'm not lile the other blacks" trope it def seems to be an element of the community that what's to pretend it doesn't s*** on dudes like Gambino coming up.
Fire aside from California.
I don’t care if it’s cool to hate on rapping Bino on here, there needs be some rapping on his final album. It’s only right
