Realistically what do you think would push them to attempt a coup?

First off, it would never happen. Ever. America’s military is so intertwined with its government that this is virtually impossible.

Now hypothetically, it it did happen, it would play out like every other military coup and military-run state. Like an absolute f***ing nightmare. A military is made to kill a country’s enemies and keep them in check. A military doesn’t know how to run a country.

Everything that keeps this country running from the treasury, to the police, to the FBI, to the court system would immediately fall into disarray. Without all of that functioning, America as we know it would basically cease to exist.

There would be widespread violence and crime with no repercussions because there is only a few million people in the military and 330 Million Americans.

From there, anything could happen. My best guess would be that some states would join forces and build their own countries, and some states like Texas and California would just become their own country. But the one thing that is for sure is that the United States would cease to exist.

Nothing. The highest ranking people in the military are already basically politicians. Any word of a coup would immediately reach the government and anyone tied to it would immediately be thrown in prison forever.

The US military is organized by some of the smartest people on Earth. They made sure that a coup is virtually impossible decades ago.

The whole reason Americans are such gun nuts is because they believe strongly in preventing a monopoly on force.
