I will say Jordan Ward is the Artist of the Year tho. He's better than half of these artists that these niggas hyped up on this site.

i mean thats the point tho if you comparin mainstream music its 100% worse now than it was back then.

underground tho has been amazin for so long now so

The two terms are pretty meaningless in 2023

The playing ground has been evened, you can go to the exact same platform and have the same ease of access to listen to anything you want. Pure sales are in the gutter for almost everybody rn including many legacy acts. It's a new day

universally loved albums now were not universally loved at the time

idk if I agree with this. those albums felt like really big moments in hip hop culture,

Kinda feels like we don't have albums like that anymore, though i don't think that's necessarily because of the quality of the music.

There's no such thing as "hip hop culture"

It's the hip hop industry now. All the local s*** and grassroots community stuff behind American rap has been dead for ages. It's a business now, just like rock music, pop music, etc

Name one rap album after 2020 that’s not from a legacy artist that is as good as the loved albums from the 2000s and the 2010s.

Sometimes I Might be Introvert, Unlocked/Melt My Eyez, The Forever Story, 2000, Learn 2 Swim, The Melodic Blue, Life of a Don, Savage Mode 2, The House is Burning, Chomp 2, Luv 4 Rent, Heroes and Villains, Call Me if You Get Lost, 4NEM, Shoot for the Stars, Glockoma 2, not rap but Fridayy, Fountain Baby, Never Enough, Red Moon in Venus
