none of these albums are touching most of anything from the 2000s, let’s be serious for like 2 minutes lol
All these albums were moments and heralded highly by fans, reviewers and it shows in the success of the artists after the albums and people still considering them the best releases of the 2020s. All the albums are great, full of expansive sounds and journeys in musicality.
Considering the decade just started, these albums may be looked back on just as fondly as those great albums from the 2000s. Just some albums one might listen to with an open mind if they’ve never heard them before and may find some new favorites from the recent years.
Nas x Hit albums are arguably on the level of 2000’s albums

if you ask ktt to name their favorite rappers rn they gon say some bullshit like kankan, summrs, etc
this site is both out of touch and the modern niggas they do like tend to be trash
this is the same exact site that trashed RENAISSANCE and SOS when they leaked
same exact site that said Yeat was destined to be a superstar, just for Ice Spice to stroll along and tack like 4-5 hits and be the closest thing to an actual new star this genre has had in a grip
same site that tried to say WLR was a bigger release than CLB or DONDA, because they suffer from Carti Delusion Disorder
unserious place
Theres a lot of legacy artists on here
No one I named is a legacy act
if you mean Tyler, Zay, Keef and Joey then ight lmfao

Crazy how he bodied an entire generation of rappers 3 decades into his career

if you dont know at least top 3 layers, time for coltrane
are people honestly even expected to remember these type of names
if you ask ktt to name their favorite rappers rn they gon say some bullshit like kankan, summrs, etc

The only right answer in this f***ing thread
crazy take tbh KTT maybe the one place people are open to listening to just about all types of new music and at the very least give it a chance.
lots of people ik close to me, who are into rap, won’t even give a chance to many of the new generation of artists.
There's no point in even trying to do this because you'll just say that it doesn't measure up. Y'all just use circular logic that is confounded in the idea that old=categorically better so any modern album that gets mentioned you'll find something, even as shallow of a criticism as "recency bias", to deny that it's a crazy album
Name the damn albums man
Some of yall act like theres some big ass gap sonically from music 10 years ago. This isn't like the 90s vs late 2000s. GKMC, MBDTF, and Channel Orange are still better produced, more quality albums than most of the albums today.
You wonder why rap is having such a hard time charting but everyone is out of touch? How does that work?

if you dont know at least top 3 layers, time for coltrane
Why are so many of them just gamer tags
if you ask ktt to name their favorite rappers rn they gon say some bullshit like kankan, summrs, etc
this site is both out of touch and the modern niggas they do like tend to be trash

Never thought I’d be in here agreeing with everything you said but we here
Name one rap album after 2020 that’s not from a legacy artist that is as good as the loved albums from the 2000s and the 2010s.
WLR
Genesis

if you dont know at least top 3 layers, time for coltrane
One of these dudes could make the best song you’ve ever heard u never know
op also is there a way you can word yourself and not sound like the most pretentious “my music taste and listening is so much better than everyone else” ? I think people would maybe be a bit more receptive to good faith convo
lmao yall were celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop not even realizing that’s the stamp of death for a genres relevancy and innovative period
look up when rock and roll had its 50th anniversary
The craziest thing is that if we actually support rap artists that can actually be a threat to Drake, Kendrick, and Cole musically and commercially
We wouldn't really have that much conversations about how we miss "old decades of rap".
But no we continue to hype up niggas like Yeat and Carti like they're revolutionary artists, then complain when older fans are not feeling them like they're feeling Kendrick or Cole.
At the same time, a lot of yall will say the Big 3 argument is dead, but we still hold those 3 in high regard for some reason, because we know we need rap artists that can actually compete against them.
So which one is it?
Name one rap album after 2020 that’s not from a legacy artist that is as good as the loved albums from the 2000s and the 2010s.
Cant believe Kendrick is a Legacy artist now
seems like yesterday S80 came out
