OP is right and there's still great stuff that dropped in the past 3 years but lets keep it real that the production especially in rap/hip hop took a decline over the years
I mean... just listen to what came out between 2010 and 2016/18
mfs have been old and bitter since the beginning of time
In Book III of Odes, circa 20 BCE, Horace wrote: "Our sires' age was worse than our grandsires'. We, their sons, are more worthless than they; so in our turn we shall give the world a progeny yet more corrupt."
Yeah man, an era that had:
"Ye
Hov
Wayne
Lupe
Em
OutKast
50
G-Unit
DMX
Jadakiss
Fab
Game
Nelly"
is the worst era of Rap
Outkast alone outraps every new rapper from the past 3-5 years
the reason yall like the old s*** more is because yall were living life and making memories then. you were younger, your mind was less jaded, you were happier and actually experiencing the music as intended
now youre old with more responsibilities and more bills to pay. you think youve seen it all and youre definitely past your prime. now u decide to take it out on the music and not your reaction to your situation
oldhead is a mentality. you can make the best out of any situation ur in. every era has forgettable trash and timeless classics. its up to u to live w the music or rot and complain
How you gonna be born in the mid-to-late 90s talking about "the old days" what bro middle school? Your first erection dropping around the same time Carter 3 came out? "Making the Band"? 56k internet? Get outta here man it's a new day
This topic would be so much cooler without this condescending attitude lol
Also, we're not out of touch with music, we're out of touch with the culture that comes with the new music
This topic would be so much cooler without this condescending attitude lol
ktt would be so much cooler without the condescending attitude from oldheads dismissive of anything new

Tbh, I've seen more younger cats pushing pluggnb than I've seen old heads complaining
Botth can be true tho

every day theres a new thread about the same topic
The craziest thing is that if we actually support rap artists that can actually be a threat to Drake, Kendrick, and Cole musically and commercially
We wouldn't really have that much conversations about how we miss "old decades of rap".
But no we continue to hype up niggas like Yeat and Carti like they're revolutionary artists, then complain when older fans are not feeling them like they're feeling Kendrick or Cole.
At the same time, a lot of yall will say the Big 3 argument is dead, but we still hold those 3 in high regard for some reason, because we know we need rap artists that can actually compete against them.
So which one is it?
Just knowing how to rap doesn’t cut it, you have to know how to make songs too which is why a lot of lyrical rappers get out shined by rappers like Carti because most of them can’t make catchy music.
Also these mainstream rappers don’t even want to compete with the Big 3, they just want to rap and make money so it’s not even the fans fault for not pushing the artists to compete when these artists don’t want to compete themselves.
The f*** is this thread even in response to? What’s out right now that’s so great that the sites out of touch with
"The 2000s were better"
"New music sucks"
"Everything new is wack and the old stuff was categorically better"
Y'all are just washed. Times change, trends change, sounds change, etc. There can be a fair argument to have about certain growing pains as musical eras shift with regard to creative slumps and fluctuating commercial performance, but the vast majority of y'all are just clinging to old models and concepts of how music is supposed to work and are mad that the actually existing industry landscape is no longer operating on that model.
Tiresome to talk about because this site is filled with a bunch of tryhard borderline Gen Zers who have a superiority complex they need to flex over actual teenagers because they fell out of sync with the culture around the mid 2010s. Washed as hell, by 2028 this place gonna be Coli tier
Not washed, the music really is that trash.

he was right
crazy take tbh KTT maybe the one place people are open to listening to just about all types of new music and at the very least give it a chance.
lots of people ik close to me, who are into rap, won’t even give a chance to many of the new generation of artists.
Ktt closed minded as hell lol
If it’s not “outside” music or an artist don’t have a co-sign from an established artist, 8/10 majority of the site will skip over someone.
OP mad no one likes his D list Pluggnb rapper who gonna go down for talking to minors
you’re mixing him up with that Melz embryo
far from it man. there’s a way to have a discussion about how a lot of the site doesn’t seem to give new rap music a chance and unfairly compare it to the legacy acts both old and new music without boiling it down to “gen z tryhards” who are trying to s*** on the people who listen to said new music. all this is attacking the people without actually even speaking on the music in depth with the original post. boils it down to a type of person being close minded and not anything to do with well maybe this is why they think that, but this is still why they’re wrong. the music is almost an after thought to the discussion, the bigger problem is the listener which seems to be kinda reductive and likely not really going to go anywhere because people don’t like being told they are dustheads who needa tap into the new gen.
”there’s a way to have a discussion about how a lot of the site doesn’t seem to give new rap music a chance”
because most of it is either gassed or derivative garbage lol
