Lars Von Trier always struck me as trying too hard. Can never get into his films

(Nymphomaniac I & II are the DC versions, I actually can't remember if I ever went back and watched the theatrical ones after.)

Was super hyped on him a few years ago but have since cooled down a bit. I still think he's great, and his best stuff is still really special. Wish he had some more mini-series work cause Riget is quality stuff.

I think my feelings towards Nymphomaniac II and Dogville have changed the most overtime, the former I've grown to like a bit more than I did initially; the latter going the opposite way.

Antichrist is the only film of his I've seen that I don't care much for (though i think the opening is great). There's still some nice scenes in it though — I particularly the exterior stuff.
