Congrats on the win I predicted Ye to win a month ago but idk anymore.

Would be nice to go out with a bang but we’ll see. Gonna be kind of a sad one knowing it’s my final outing and probably @Mmm_Hmm, but it’ll be an appropriate culmination of everything that he built up again.
I went in expecting it to be an uphill battle but this was more like a hangout with good music. Americana did his thing and everybody brought good energy. This was a personal fav because 3 of my fav Rocky songs won their respective rounds.
You didn’t even pull out LVL dawg

I believe you could win. It’s impossible to fumble with Dre’s catalog.

LVL was on my list but I had 40+ songs lol I was indecisive. Did you have Dope Dealer on your OG setlist?
This VZ felt good. So many real ones showed up and paid respect to Rocky and Q. I love y'all fr
Thank you for this you did great representing Rocky

Too divisive
I did have Kno Ya Wrong and Blank Fave

Thank you. I’m honored to give Rocky his flowers and shed light on his catalog. It was sweet seeing everyone pay their respects to Rocky and Q.

I mentioned it a week ago and they tore E-40 up lol Ride Out > Know Ya Wrong. You played the superior song.

@americana yes I have to give you props too I love revisiting classics and having nostalgia. I grew up loving Q music as well, starting to miss this era

Idk why. It’s a good album. Q spoke down on it because it wasn’t successful, by his standards

Blank Face is Q’s best album but it’s kind of like TPAB where the music is amazing but it’s not really KTT2 VZ material.

Is Blank Face too “mysterious”? I was confused by the negative reception of That Part.

Too artsy and slow paced for KTT2.
H&C and Oxy are perfect for VZ though
It inspired me to revisit Oxymoron. Blank Face gets its flowers but Oxy is due for some lovin.
i started to overlook Oxymoron too after Blank Face came out, it'll be hard for me to go back but i think if i start with some favorites then the rest of it should spill back in

how did it get zero votes

It’s funny when that happens. Sometimes it makes the preceding albums harder to get into because it feels like taking a step backwards. Does that make any sense? I experienced that with Setbacks. Q was still figuring himself out
Hope Q officially bounces back on his next one. CrasH Talk had a few great songs, but the overall album + rollout felt very "eh whatever I guess". Very passionless overall, little to no effort compared to Oxy which felt like its own moment and BFLP which you could tell Q put his blood, sweat and tears into.

there's a narrative on it that it was critic bait, and tbh, i do see that angle, but i feel like even if that's what it was (and i don't think it was), it was still a good ass project. the way they handled the visuals and everything in the release and promotion of it was special and i remember i followed it so closely.
i get why it never took off in the public and what Q was saying about it being so dark.
i think at the point it came out the public was more or less done with that period of dark albums... there was a period from like 2014 - 2016-ish? i can't really remember where every huge release was something dark.. like Rodeo, Dark Sky Paradise, If You're Reading This It's Too Late etc. etc. so it fit in with the theme of those releases.. but it came right at the end of it all, so it didn't fare so well. it was still a good ass album. JoHn Muir and Tookie Knows still get spins from me to this day, 6 years later..
also holy f***, it's been 6 years.

Was Crash Talk successful? If so, I’m afraid he’ll pump out another like it. I don’t think I’ve heard Chopstix once outside of my initial listen.
