Mods havent even said s*** about the sales threads btw. They were even posting in the 250 pg thread.
There's a lot of things to discuss. The context, what went wrong, what the artist should have done differently, what the artist should do next... Weeknd Gunna thread did 250 pages, so there's clearly a lot to talk about.
this really not far off conservatives always clinging to 60 percent of americans or whatever saying that the election was stolen. everybody just gassing each other up with this s***. its toxic and pointless. get a life

Reminder of what we're fighting against brothers
You are fighting against the idea of music being good even if you don’t personally like it
If you think it’s bad but hundreds of millions think it’s good enough to spend money on then maybe it’s just good bro
The issue is coming here for genuine music discussion. Most users here primarily listen to rap, yet over the years KTT has COMPLETELY fallen off in regards to knowing who’s “next up” within rap. A lot of users think they’re above Reddit / Twitter users, when in reality, they’re barely above them when it comes to this.
This applies to 85% of them, a good 15% of users are knowledgeable about hip hop and other genres
I’ve been on KTT since 2013
btw since a lot of you are here rn i wanna ask, did you guys watch the movie Parasite
There hasn’t been a better movie to come out since it was released

those are the stuff that people should be talking about. but I most of the time I see comments like "the weeknd flopped haha how yall coping" its just annoying too see stuff like that when you just wanna talk casually about the numbers and the music
I don’t understand what makes this an 80s album? It sounds a lot more like outrun which is the product of 2010s music and film culture.
What pop music from the 1980s does this actually sound like?

are these really interesting things to talk about when it comes to music? i have a problem with implying that artists should be prioritizing their commercial performance for the next project instead of evolving their craft and sound. and besides, all of these points dont really need more than a couple pages to discuss.
that gunna and weeknd thread is such a terrible example since most of it was baiting and s*** flinging

You do not decide what's pointless to discuss or not. Sales are an important part of the music industry and can be fascinating to explore.

It's not that serious man
Most of it is jokes and shambles and it´s kinda funny ngl.
I'm all for one salesthread/section tho.

If any person I ever come across in real life says they're fascinated by discussing music sales I'm hoping they get hit by a bus
