"After releasing two of the decade’s most popular and critically acclaimed rap albums, expectations for Kendrick Lamar's fourth LP were sky-high. How would a radio-friendly but overtly political rapper respond to an era of police killings on TV and Donald Trump in the White House? With an album that’s less obtuse than To Pimp A Butterfly and more righteous than Good Kid M.A.A.D City."

No
TPAB >> DAMN

No actually I'm in a state of clarity.. utilizing my knowledge
This...is old
Well those trolls attached it to the news about Jay Elect's new album so I just saw it smh
tpab is not obtuse at all
but Damn is definitely his best album
It's his weakest tbh
Still an 8/10+ tho

have trouble taking that take seriously when it covers all the topics from his previous projects on single songs and verses and dives deeper than any of his other projects.
people just overlook that because it is disguised by more mainstream production but it’s really his deepest and most well-executed album

That's all cool in theory but the other albums just have a doper and more consistently gorgeous sound (jazzy/soulful/G Funk s***), and a mindblowing storyline that ties all the songs in.. DAMN just feels like an introduction to Kendrick for casual listeners tbh..
And personally speaking I found more meaning in GKMC and TPAB than DAMN..
P4k been confirmed trash, its nothing new. They rated Rodeo a 6 and JACKBOYS a 5.6 or something.
I love both Kendrick’s albums tho.

well that’s because the meaning is more direct in tpab and gkmc
there is something much more striking and beautiful to me about something that appears simple and accessible on the surface, but looked at closer reveals deeper intricacies than one would expect
to each their own
@TroyAveStan writes for p4k?
