    Ooo

I think so. Like I don’t think she realizes it’s not always about what you say but now you say it. Her lyrics at times definitely go beyond submission

Take a song like cater to you for example. It’s all about submission and people love it

Which songs do you have in mind?

Ngl I like Lana but you hit the nail on the head. It don’t matter still bumping her music lol

exactly. If I listened to music for morality the only hip hop Id have in my library would be Will Smith

oh nah I'm not dissing it at all, you misunderstand my point. It's that we've reached a time where women have turned the tables and we fully embrace it. niggas def chant the chorus to Act Up by City Girls in the club my g.

I think it's slightly different - really thinking about it

Ariana can have a thank u, next and break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored and not a critic will think this is a dangerous precedent for womanhood

    Yes and no.

She's talking about critics remember - not the general public. So in her mind, she has been ostracized for the better half of a decade

Offset X Cardi and Bey X Hov were not covered by music crticism and if so were very short lived in comparison

well then shorty need to open up her mind because in calling out female celebrities that LITERALLY one of them just got doxxed for their past internet history just the other day, she's opening herself up to looking like the bad guy that just threw a bunch of black artists under the bus.

Beyonce and Nicki Minaj alone have gotten way more music criticism thrown at them than Lana ever did. Critics really used to think Beyonce was "hypocritical" and using the "feminist wave" as a bandwagon because "all she did was show her ass on stage even though you have a daughter" like feminism was one thing for like the entire self decade to lemonade era of her career my g.

    I don't think THAT's fair either.

    Good points overall

Hypothetically, if Beyoncé wrote a similar letter in 2013 and name dropped Lana Del Rey, would you say the same? And if Lana didn't call out many prominent Black women - hypothetically - and she only mentioned White women, would you still be saying the same?

I mean we do have an example of this my g. What you think Azalea's gimmick's been for the past decade?

and I thought it was OD corny when Azalea told Iggy to kill herself.

I didn't forget when y'all defended her fake hood behavior when she told Azaelia Banks to "drop the addy" so she can "pull up" and beat her ass

Don't be obtuse, white people from White Plains, NY don't talk like that

  • May 21, 2020

It’s not 2014 anymore. Critics have made a 180 switch on her. She had the best reviewed album of 2019 and it wasnt even close

She is wrong for this letter. But she probably had these feelings for years and she decided to let them out now (6 years too late and during a pandemic)
    The backlash is deserved

i'm not not a feminist but there has to be a place in feminsm for women that look and act like me - the kind of women who are slated mercilessly for being their authentic, delicate selves, who get their own stories and voices taken away by stronger women or by men that hate women

    Ayo @STUFF @One

i'ma leave this to yall my g.

I don't even want to entertain this

  • someone really should DM her all the "beyonce isn't a real feminist" critiques that white america used to say my g.

It's only REALLY been like...3 years since this "new" style of feminism has been accepted (and honestly you gotta give a shoutout to the Highbridge princess for kinda bringing that era in cause both Beyonce and Nicki Minaj was dissed and laughed at for it for YEARS. Nigga's forget Nicki was really bullied for an awful long time we just act like it never happened because everyone loves her but there was a time niggas used to rag on her ALLLLLLLL the time.)

before cardi, of course you had your Trinas and Eves and strippers becoming rappers but they were kinda always in their own little category or the "extremes."

Cardi with her IG/social media persona and the love and hip hop and the marketability and a lot of regular shorties relating to her everyday problems made it cool to be a sexual being if that makes any sense my g.
