Then what was her point in bringing up any of those artists at all? “Here’s some women who had it way harder than me who still managed to succeed”? From the context of her note, it’s obvious she wasn’t shouting them out. She was saying, you allow them to do x, but you won’t allow me to do y. Nobody allowed those woman of color to do anything. She explained it but she is still missing the point. Just because they are friends (which no one knew about) doesn’t mean they are in the same boat. This is a very easy concept to understand.
Dismissing every criticism with such distain only makes it worse because she refuses to understand where the criticism is coming from.

To be fair she did address the main criticism which was that she was being racist. She cleared herself up. Also, people knew they were friends.

This whole situation is happening because lanas lack of explaining herself. The post she did made her sound ignorant, even i had a problem with it.
