Lana burned that budget like crazy on badly/incompetently shot action sequences with bad choreography and terrible camera angles aka wiping ass with the studios money
A lot of why it’s bloated is because they had to stop filming because of Covid then rebook and reset up things . Also final sequence in San Fran driving is more expensive than visual. People jumping and natural lighting leads to many shots

Again to stop filming during covid take multiple month breaks then return to filming with all the schedules and all the booking . Everyone who was originally going to work on the film that now couldn't . Light rewrites due to no hugo and some other things

The adventures of pluto Nash cost over 100 mill to make snd looks like a sitcom. Ppl burn thru studio dollars thru bad or lazy filmmaking all the time

The only thing i remember about this f***ing movie is trinity's husband being named CHAD
This series needed to stay in the 00s with how campy it is, i say this as someone who fanboys over the cyberpunk genre and as a giant matrix fan
I think some more animatrix type adaptions would be great though
