WRUthey own a crib and recently bought another one
in order to being able to pay mortgage and make sure the first apartment isn't idle I rented it from em as I wanted to move out for a minute. keeping money in the family and s***
That's a little bit different and obviously it's nothing with malicious intent so no ur parents aren't evil or anything, but the concept of whats going on in this scenario shouldn't be a thing

1. imo rent-seeking is trash. where im from A TON of people want to own a few apartments and then rent them out while doing nothing. its not frowned upon or morally questionable which brings me to my next point
2. if you mention anything even remotely close to what synopsis says itt ppl round here at the very best will look at you funny. even my gf knows that I don't like the whole landlord s*** and still says 'you gotta keep it real tho so I don't wanna hear none of that. it is what it is so shut up'. real life NEVER works how a ktt2 op thinks it does

ragedsycokillerEveryone capping for landlords is capping for themselves for monetary value tbh. Most people who try to own properties to flip always search in low income neighborhoods (usually in poc communities) and kick the surrounding people out with the property taxes that increase from everyone buying houses
That's a completely different argument and generalization tho, ur arguing against gentrification. The argument posed in op is one that claims all landlords are evil no matter what just for being involved in the system.
