Youd no longer be a landlord then
True.
Ok what if instead of using the land I buy for shelter, I use it to build businesses and create jobs?
Was more curious about it as background as to why his opinions are so far from my own, not specifically related to this thread specifically
I had this same convo like a month ago lmao
Please take 2nd grade level questions elsewhere
Don’t discriminate against people’s questions. There are no stupid questions. You made the thread and you want to spread awareness. Do that instead.
okay the landlords are gone
who owns the apartment/house now?
I guess we'd go back to the common property system? At one point all land was commonly owned and was then stolen to be used as private property
If you're gonna freeze jobs eventually you need to freeze rents and mortgage payments
Gov is trying to have it one way without the other
I knew it was you
If you're a landlord and outright own the property (no debt) and are evicting people right now, pure d***head move.
If you have a mortgage, probably also lost your job too, and still have to make your payments .. I mean I pretty much understand you're choosing your ass over others.

community owned condos and homes? how would we decide who lives where?
are we paying rent anymore?
this all just raises a lot of questions that synop won't take the time to answer cus he'd have to actually think about how his idea would actually work in the real world
will probably come off as 'my dad's a cop therefore all cops aren't bad' and sound whiny but I'll give a personal account for the sake of the thread.
growing up my old man owned two rental properties each with two units. both very modest and neither place had a unit that rented for more than $800 bucks a month and I routinely watched him get treated like s*** by tenants. dip out and stiff him on rent, break s*** that I would end up having to spend my Saturdays fixing, constantly do things that were explicitly outlined as not allowed in the lease (smoke in the house, have pets, etc) and never once did he ever move to even try to have someone evicted. So nah, I'm not going for this. Example in OP is horrible but the fact of the matter is just some people are no damn good and that's always gonna happen in one way or another in any situation.
That was easily the cringiest twitter thread I've ever read
As much as I disagree with Synopsis about stuff I appreciate he makes discussion that makes you want to think

Yea it's a system from a time when things were much less complex I'm not sure how it could work today

The only thing this thread makes me want to "think" about is how he hasn't been banned yet

I'm not in here to argue but I'm very curious, Synopsis what do you do for a living?
He doesn't have a job and never has had one
He a real one for that tbh.
Yeah username checks out

Gov is trying to have it one way without the other
Or we can get on some universal basic income
He doesn't have a job and never has had one
he lives in a dangerous area, its hard for him to walk to work

Democrats are too stupid to realize when they have a good candidate in front of them
