can't believe how many absolute scum of the earth people reside on a kanye forum lmao
@Synopsis sorry I didn’t know this section existed but this thread is interesting.
Could you please give me cliffs on why you think this way.
For full reference (as you know) I am not American so I wouldn’t know the full extent of the issues faced there.
Also is this thread ideological (which is admirable) or is it based on what society is actually like?
Cause the answer changes for both.

Because landlords are a parasite on society, sucking money from the working class, profiting off their labor and exploiting them

I live in Russia, and it's a weird concept for me, how you can pay all your life to some dude, as many people in Russia even poor ones have some private property to themselves, and they even can act as landlords by temporarily giving these apatments to someone else for payment.
But I think there is a plus in this situation, as people can easily migrate as buying your own flat is very expensive.

Kind of an irrelevant question because obviously the overall goal is to change how society works in order fo make this possible

Well it’s slightly nuanced for me.
Ideologically I do agree with you.
In real world I have 2 investment properties which the rent help pays off the mortgage.
So whilst I agree with you the real world application is especially selfish.

whats selfish is for you to think your investment properties are more important than people being able to live in secure housing. and i dont think you should have a mortgage either

But these safe and secure housing is not available to people.
Genuinely if we didn’t buy it then someone else would. The problem would still be there but someone else would have the asset not me
And I’m not sure the issue with mortgage

no, because the point is the housing is available to the people, but housing has been commodified, made into a profit seeking venture for the landlords while the poor and working class suffer. so the point is not to say, stop being a landlord so others can do it but to create a society where the idea of being a landlord is non existent. and the issue with the mortgage is, housing is a human right, therefore there shouldn't be some sort of profit motive

You see this is why I asked whether this is ideological or based on “real life”
I agree with you genuinely I do, but you nor I can’t do much mate.
And whilst you may have stronger ideologies but I need to secure my partners and I future
It’s a me first then everyone else works sadly.

i don't think you agree with me based on how unwilling you are to even imagine the alternative as anything other an "ideological"

What is the alternative that I (me Ary) can do beyond not buying them?

literally just not buy them lol theres no rule saying you have to be a landlord

That doesn’t solve anything though.
All that, that does is hamstring my family. The entire issue of landlords is going to whoever else buys it lmao.
In this scenario, not only do the people priced out of the market lose, I do as well

then cut some expenses. there is no world in which you can justify being a landlord. don't lie by saying you disagree with the practice

I’m genuinely baffled right now. Cutting expenses will do what exactly?
The purpose I have property is to gain an asset that is tangible and is relatively risk free moving forward.
That is how I can justify it.
I agree with you I genuinely do but in the real world it doesn’t work like this.

maybe make it so you can afford your mortgage without being a s*** ass landlord.
