There should be a third party audit group designed to periodically check the mental health and ethical procedures of every law enforcement agency.

if someone with responsibility wanted it to happen then it would’ve happened decades ago

Adjust the budget to allow for social workers to help in non-violent situations where someone doesn't explicitly need an officer but a peacemaker, stop giving the police old military weapons and equipment, remove the immunity that police officers have from crimes they commit (getting a pat on the back for abuse of position doesn't stop anyone), require body cameras on all police officers, make police complaint reports public (like NYC/NY (one of those)) just did, and stop allowing cops to just transfer to other departments once they do some wild f***shit and get away with it

If I was a criminal, I would just kick the social workers ass lmao what would he do? Tickle me?

    100%.
The motto should not be defund the police, it should be the opposite: invest in the police so we can replace incompetent policemen with quality law enforcement

I think defund the police stemmed from having putting more funds in them for military gear - which resulted in the deadliest years for cop killing civilians... Could be wrong though

1 - That already happens in the criminal justice system, it's called mediation
2 - So you need to invest more money to give policemen better equipment
3 - There's no legal or de facto immunity.
    4 - I agree with this suggestion
5 - There are some crimes where there are other factors that need to be taken into account (for example: maybe the victim doesn't want to submit him or herself to the social pressure of being involved), but it's not a bad shout
6 - That is just too general of a statement

The first point is for when the police shows up to a white lady who called the police on a black men for breathing to hard or on black kids for selling lemonade

Sending a social worker or a non armed person for situations like that would have prevented - alot of blm moments imo

The police could def need that tbh

not everyone calls the cop on criminals

Black kids got cops called on them for selling lemonade

Do you remember what happened to 12 yo Tamir rice?
he wasn't a criminal either just so you know

you would be risking people's lives tho. If you were to do that you would need police to wait in the car or something

local government pays for most of police so I think a blanket "defund the police" is stupid

Idc who pays - there's an issue of them having military gear? yes or no? If yes, fix it.
locals for each city can demand it as well

what are the chances they hit that artery directly for them to bleed out and die?
Vs headshots or multiple shots to the chest area?
    ???

They are being trained to do exactly what that institution wants them to do. Shoot people.

Cops get extremely s*** training though. Put military people on the streets to patrol and they would handle these situations so much better.

aiming for limbs on a moving target is very difficult which is why they dont do that...
