Has he ever mentioned David Lynch as an influence :
Yup he explicitly credited Twin Peaks. He even said particularly that he thought working in the TV medium brought out different qualities from Lynch compared to his films, which inspired him to try his hand at TV as well, even though there wasn't a lot of precedent for auteur TV in Denmark. (Which again shows the impact of TP and how it encouraged auteurs to try their hand at a series format, basically paving the way for "Golden Age"/Peak TV)

I wonder if this will in turn be inspired by The Return def possible it was a reason he thought he can still do this in the first place tbh, very similar setup with the 23 years later.

Two of my favourite directors. Nice to know there's a connection between them

Just read a Danish interview from Lars Von Trier about “Riget 3”
He talks about listening to the new ABBA record. He thinks it sounds like Cats, that ABBA has become to good, self aware and wants to make art.
They used to be rebels and just do what they wanted to do.
He himself struggles with self awareness and has to “get past himself” to make something good.
He don’t feel he has the courage and strength anymore. He thought making “Riget 3” would be easy, as he has always thought “Riget” was left hand work and a way for Zentropa to get money, but it took a year to write the script.
He reminisced a bit about writing the script for “Dogville” in a week on coke and booze.
is a remaster of the first seasons coming out?
