    • Lil Uzi Vert - The Perfect LUV Tape (Trap/Cloud Rap, 2016)

It's available on every streaming platform, even Soundcloud. It's probably my favorite 10-track album and the only one that i come back to frequently from Lil Uzi Vert. It has solid features from Future, Offset & Playboi Carti and every song has its own strong vibe. Really love the postivity in Ronda (Winners) & my favorite song is Seven Million.

    Okay so @sense
I've had kinda hard time with listening to Love Letters since I really prefer songs that drip with energy. Love Letters is a really chilly album that I anyway enjoyed after all. It might sound weird but I really loved that whole Instrumental Boy Racers song, this is somehow my vibe and I ended up repeating this song the most. The whole album is great too but I kinda expected something different. I'm still willing to give it way more chances beucase I feel like I might actually like the whole thing even more. thank you for showing me Metronomy.

and i don't really like to rate albums like that but if i have to then it's like 7/10 for me rn

    Radiohead - In Rainbows

This is my third time listening to In Rainbows. I got into their discography a few months ago. This album holds up pretty well. The songwriting remains strong and I find the production on In Rainbows to be their most interesting. This would definitely be the album I would recommend to someone who might not like Radiohead or discounted them too early. There's a lot to discover with this album. It's definitely my favorite from the group.

cute. i get that love letters is way out there. that's what i intended for when i looked for a rec 😅. i actually don't usually listen to it whole. more in bits & pieces. reservoir is one of my fav songs oat so i'm glad you got to hear it

on the other side perfect luv tape is one of my all time favs, and same with uzi. ghetto flowers has an iconic carti renegade. money mitch and sideline watching is bad b**** music and the back half of plt is more fun. ronda is insane 😇

🤗 Ok, so I already had heard I Don't Like S***, I Don't Go Outside, but its been years since I listened and I tried to pay closer attention on this revisit.

Overall I think it is a pretty great and consistent album which doesn't have any weak aspects or elements that stand out from the rest. There is no weak link song for me but the highlights also don't stand too far above the rest. It is very cohesive in terms of the song quality and the consistent style of the album, which does keep enough variation not to sound homogeneous. Most of the songs have similar construction and are usually built around pretty loops of smoother sounding keyboard and bass along with rougher distorted drums. The instruments and samples all have really nice timbres (ex: opening keyboards on Huey or the guitar loop in Faucet) which I think contrasts well with the drums and the serious subject matter. The only song that I did not like the drums on was Grief, I get what the intention is but the drums and distortion just cross over into sounding unpleasant without adding much to the song. I think the pacing and sequencing is on point, I especially like choice of opening with Huey and how the next few songs flow into each other. Even though the first half of the album might be stronger, I think the 2nd half ends very well and the momentum is never dropped.

As for Earl himself, I think his performance was very strong on this album but not quite outstanding. His lyricism, wordplay, and emotional expression is all captivating and done well, but his raps do not quite stick with me as much as they did on the later Some Rap Songs. His flow and delivery are consistently great, and I think he does a good job going for a serious sound without taking any life out of the music. My favorite parts of the album overall are the opening of Huey, entirety of Faucet, the beat on Inside, and Earl's verse on DNA.

I give it a 8/10 overall and I would say it is near classic level for me.

Richard and Linda Thompson - I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight (British Folk Rock, 1974) by @RVI

Such a calm and relaxing album. From the first song I knew I’d enjoy it. Any other Richard Thompson album you recommend?
Fav songs: When I get to the border, The Calvary Cross and Down where the drunkards roll.

I'd recommend listening to Fairport Convention - Unhalfbricking. Richard Thompson wasnt the leader of that band but his guitar playing has a strong presence and the overall style is pretty similar. its even better though and if you like that then their other 2 albums from 1969 are similar.
