@daquan98 you have to pick something else, Lemonade was already submitted
Think i got a good one
I hope everyone doesnt just pick Lemonade and Endless
I saw the visuals for that one before
edit: lmao hope so too, there's gotta be more visual albums out there
Just so you know, an album like GKMC or The Wall would count as a cinematic concept.
So if you can't find a strictly visual album that would also do the trick
Music that has a certain cinematic quality. Much, like Pink Floyd’s The Wall or Kendrick Lamar’s GKMC, following a clear, linear narrative or deliberate concept.
or
an album accompanied by a series of videos or a single film
@Soupvillain
This was really solemn and her voice is beautiful. I immediately thought of the film lost in translation, would love to have the film on while this is playing. My only slight issue was a few of the melodies did start to sound samey but nothing that would prevent me turning it off. Thanks for this will def be adding a few songs to my Jazz library.

One of my fave voices from that era
Glad you enjoyed it fam also still need to see Lost in Translation, might do it now soon as I can get it.
I've always meant to listen to their full discog. Despite how good this is, apparently it's not even their best one?
they only have 3 albums and this is their debut
my personal fav is their last one
HERE MY DEAR BY MARVIN GAYE
I keep getting these influential classics every round 😂. I could hear 90s R Kelly, Moses, Flying Lotus etc... Definitely very impactful across many genres.
What I love about this record is that it’s very strong thematically, very rhythmic and jazzy. It also felt very nostalgic because growing up, my mom used to play these throwback albums. And Marvin Gaye was being big in my house.
The album is lowkey relaxing despite the unfortunate subject matter and the heavy instrumentation. But that was the downfall for me because I was actively listening to the album over and over again trying to catch every detail. I love songs with sax riffs but it was a little too excessive here. I also appreciate a nice jam session but here they went on for a little too long. I know the idea is to get lost in the songs but it didn't work for me. Finally, I dont think I will be playing this album in full again but definitely some songs here and there. That’s probably because none of my favorite Marvin Gaye songs are in this.

Notes on a Conditional Form 2/10
they're the worst band alive. they failed at every genre experiment they attempted. so many diet Burial/Jamie xx/Bon Iver/whatever the f*** and it all sounds bad. Matty Healy is our generation's Morrissey without the talent.
Future Nostalgia 7/10
i was anticipating this but didn't think it would live to the singles or anything so i was decently surprised by how much i liked it. I think the Nu-Disco influences are blended in a really nice way and Dua really commands this whole album through and through. It's really nice to see efforts by the people in the forefront of Pop.
Starz 7/10
Prob my fav Lean record. Consistent good prod for whitearmor and performance by Lean. Not a whole lot to say. Free Carti's verse tho
not necessarily a fan of this one. qj’s production honestly doesn’t really match with her tbh, despite it being pretty good. concept could’ve been good but it’s ran to the ground in the first half.
it’s my party was the only track which i thought was really good, nealy every other track was just alright and living in its shadow. her latter albums seem to be more highly rated so i’ll see about them.
6/10
highlights: it’s my party
lowlights: 2nd half besides the outro

Does it literally have to be a visual album or nah
Snoh Aalegra - Ugh those feels again
Im a big fan of Snoh and this album gets a lot of spins from me. This is one of my favorite albums from 2019. She grew a lot on it and she reminds me of Sade a bit. This album didn't really feel like a breakup album when I factor in her tone and beats but I can see how one could use it to recover. Her songwriting is really good and her voice is really soothing. You can tell as she gets better her material will be timeless. She's one of those rare talents due to her voice and her aura. The album really doesn't decline in quality and can be used for a lot of purposes imo. Definitely a tape I'd put on around a female. Also like how she continued Charleville. My only gripe with this is I wish she used a rap feature on this. Someone like ross cole or drake woulda been dope. Her rap features on her last album were trash tho.
Favorite songs: Love Like That, Situationship, Whoa, I Want you around.

not literally it can have a concept that feels cinematic achieved through skits, voice-overs or something along those lines
