Jagged Edge - J.E. Heartbreak @daquan98
I don't have to much say about this record as its a Contemporary R&B record which is inlined with groups like 112 or Blackstreet. There are love jams such as "Let's Get Married" or "He Can't Love You" which are pretty good. However records like these i find myself finding too many mundane songs especially from one such song called "Keys To The Range" which has to most typical r&b hip hop jams out there. Overall this record is very listenable and has highlights to it however i don't see me returning to this record any time soon

My personal AOTY of last year and really fits the theme. Twigs' voice on this is so heavenly in every song and the production is amazing to match that, especially in songs like Fallen Alien. Even Holy Terrain with Future, which some people said was mid, I found amazing.Extremely interested to hear where she goes from here, since this only her second real album.

Just Got Back From the Discomfort. 2010. @EuroNymous
I don't really listen to a lot of experimental or left field rock albums. My go to rock artists are usually grunge acts such as Nirvana or classic bands like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. However, this album was not made for me. The vocals here aren't good, however, the production makes up for it. For example, "Bug-infested Floorboards -- Can We Please just Leave This Place Now" has this heavy bass with hard hitting drums, which I love. I also liked the Malcolm In The Middle samples he included. I thought it was placed well in the song and executed nicely. Overall, this album is not something I would revisit, due to it being a little extreme for my palette. This album's production can get messy at some points where it sounds like i'm listening to a band who just started to play instruments for the first time.

no doubts about it
i can't pick a clear standout as well but that run from TRS all the way to I'm deadass is so potent damn!
i could already feel him growing and evolving on this one based on the singles beforehand but he really surprised me with the extent he showcased on here.

that track is so amazing and you right the project was consistently strong like that run. Navy Blue killing all his feats, dude is pulling no punches!
Truth & Soul is such a special record 🔥

Sorry for being inactive with the contest, been busy writing on my dissertation. Will try and think of an album for next week but just wanna say it's a cool concept I'd like to see return and hopefully have more participation in next time.

@Demons hey bro, you gotta pick a different album but nice choice 😉
Super solid album. I liked the how a couple of the songs progressed, did a good job of keeping them interesting and dynamic. Overall great and funky instrumentals, really easy to just put this on and enjoy the vibe. Didn't really like the use of auto-tune on a lot of the tracks as it just felt amateur and not even in an endearing way. The songwriting was also pretty hit or miss for me like on $$$ Huntin and S***With Your Ex, like I understand that they're trying to be tongue in cheek but it just kinda falls flat for me because it isn't that enjoyable even as a joke. Pretty decent overall but I can't say I'll be going back to this besides a 1-2 tracks and it's not that most of the songs are bad but I'm just indifferent to them.

i feel that
first time i heard it i thought it was just about a regular break up, but it turns out the album was actually written about his wife's death, which makes some songs hit a lot harder for me, especially I'll Pretend
"I'll pretend I don't hear when silence tells me
That I'll have to get by on my own
I'll pretend I don't hear when loneliness speaks so clear
And tries to tell me you're not coming home"
