I regret not seeing this one earlier.
9/10 loved every second of it.
really cool poster
torrented that which was 36gb
anyways great print
I wanna get a ssd just for those massive films
Last train to busan 8.5/10 s*** was mad intense, and that ending
Shutter Island 7.5/10 I like how every detail matters and how well thought out everything is
Murder By Contract leaves criterion at the end of the month and it is definitely worth your time
three outlaws?
yep
La vie d'Adèle (Blue is the Warmest Color) I cant rate it but it was quite the experience, felt uneasy for the whole duration of it I felt like I was watching things I wasnt supposed to see, the dialogue is just so realistic it becomes disturbing, some conversations in the movie I legit had or heard the exact same things in my life
just rewatched The Campaign, movie is ahead of its time and its hitting hard especially rn
Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (1971) 5.5
Somewhat cool sentiment, but I'm not gonna pretend like this is something I enjoy. Decently experimental and provocative, but it's a lot cooler to think about than sit through.
Mother (2009) 7.5
Just a hair off from being Joon-ho's best- poetic, funny, haunting, and frustrating all at once. For whatever reason it failed to totally engross me, but I can't really pick out a fault. It's a good movie.
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) 4.5
White liberalism wins again
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) 7
A little underwhelming, but subtlety probably helps the film to age well for 50s sci-fi
The Fog (1980) 7
Another somewhat underwhelming film, due to pace and weak scares, that I respect nonetheless, because I like the colors and atmosphere. Also, Adrienne Barbeau's voice.
The Red Shoes (1948) 10
One of the stronger pure meditations (though its also a bit of a psychotic storm) on weighing the beauty of art against the cost of human effort I've seen. Tho, this got all its points just because it looks phenomenal. That it tells a decent story with good music too is just the icing.
