you know it's a Gaspar Noe movie when you've already seen a graphic shot of d*** & balls and extreme violence against a woman in the first 30 min. not as provocative or shocking as most noe work until the end, this was basically a prodding taxi driver but with a french old man. its bleak and depressing and the cinematography and colors capture that mood well but the character is unsympathetic and deplorable, despite a good performance from the actor. heard some say this is noe's best work but i would not recommend or ever watch again. the ending pissed me off too.
2/10
Watched Ghost in the Shell (the OG anime one) tonight. Didn’t do anything for me tbh, felt like I was watching the season finale of some show that I had never seen. Didn’t care about the plot or the characters, and visuals weren’t enough to save it.
Quantum of Solace, maybe Daniel Craig 007 movies aren’t my thing but I give it a solid 3/5

PAUL. THOMAS. ANDERSON. CAN. DO. NO. WRONG.
loved this when I first saw it, but it might be even better after a rewatch. of course DDL is amazing but Vicky Krieps impressively held her own as his costar. this is also maybe my favorite movie score, done by Jonny Greenwood. PTA can make any seemingly boring topic engaging and he's got such a meaningful way of capturing romance, conflict, insecurities, and resolution in relationships

Gotta peep this
Best of the 4 Blumhouse movies. It may not be great, but it's a slow ass year.
I also recommend The Lie, it's predictable, but watchable.
Shock (1977) I wish it had a bluray release

Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key (1972)
